☑️ Series: Buck Lateral
☑️ Play: Pitchout (Sweep)
☑️ Team: 1980 Giles HS 🏆

One of our favorite trap plays from 2015:
▪️Influence/sucker pull
▪️Fake pitch & wing reverse
▪️Fake end run off-tackle
▪️Buck Lateral fullback trap
Lots of false keys! 👀
At the end of the day, football comes down to physicality. It can be taught. Softness can be drilled out of a player. However, taking joy in bludgeoning your opponent is not for everyone. Then again, neither is winning. 😱
☑️ Series: Tailback Straight
☑️ Play: Wingback Reverse
☑️ Team: 1980 Giles HS 🏆
☑️ Coach: Steve Ragsdale
☑️ Notes: Blocking back threatens the log block to influence the defensive end. Wingback is former Richlands and current Loris, SC head coach Greg Mance. Opponent: Narrows.
☑️ Series: Fullback Full Spin
☑️ Play: End Around
☑️ Team: 1947 Michigan
☑️ Coach: Fritz Crisler
☑️ Notes: Tons of misdirection by the "Mad Magicians" before handing off to 6'5" left end Len Ford in the fourth quarter of the 1948 Rose Bowl.
☑️ Series: Fullback Full Spin
☑️ Play: Trap
☑️ Team: 1947 Michigan
☑️ Coach: Fritz Crisler
☑️ Notes: First play of the famed 1948 Rose Bowl. While only a 3-yard gain, look at all the window dressing by the "Mad Magicians," including the blocking back faking buck lateral. 👀
☑️ Series: Buck Lateral
☑️ Play: Trap
☑️ Team: 1950 Princeton
☑️ Coach: Charlie Caldwell
☑️ Notes: Left end formation variation. Incredible look at the proper trap angle by the left guard. Great teaching tool in any offense. 💯

Another clip from the 1948 Rose Bowl. The YouTube excerpts don't have the entire game, which includes more masterful backfield wizardry from Crisler's "Mad Magicians." Here he combines the Full Spin & Buck Lateral Series actions. 🤯
☑️ Series: Buck Lateral
☑️ Play: Trap
☑️ Team: 1965 E.C. Glass HS (VA)
☑️ Coach: Vince Bradford
☑️ Notes: Notice the wingback reverse fake behind the trap to hold the backside linebacker. Love the hard-charging run by the fullback here. 👀
1928 Georgia Tech
◾ BB/C end-to-end 🔛
◾ BB can take indirect snap
◾ BB can pull to allow direct snap
Offensive innovation that pre-dates Jones➡️Halas➡️Shaughnessy T-formation! 👀
@jimshapiro
Not practice, but still a great one. Had a kid wear shorts on gameday when the directive was long pants, shirt tucked in, etc. When questioned, he said they were long pants, but his mom put them in the dryer and they shrunk. 😂😂
A4: Go double tight and make offensive line play the cornerstone of your program. Sell your offense as a meat grinder. Culture will build numbers.

☑️ Series: Flicker
☑️ Play: Power Weak
☑️ Team: 1947 SMU
☑️ Coach: Matty Bell
☑️ Notes: Doak Walker running the ball against Penn State in the 1948 Cotton Bowl. Notice the running double team on the kick-out.
A coach's job is to get more out of you than you are willing to give alone. Getting defensive is counterproductive. Being uncomfortable is part of the process. Understanding that the message is designed for improvement (incl. mentally) is the very definition of being coachable.
☑️ Series: Fullback Full Spin
☑️ Play: Wingback Reverse
☑️ Team: 1961 Narrows HS (VA)
☑️ Coach: Harry Ragsdale
☑️ Notes: Here is a look at this play with an inside handoff. Left end, Dan Phlegar, was a high school All-American. Opponent: Blacksburg.
Great look at Oregon running Pistol GT Counter toward their TE/Wing
▪️TE & Wing Arc Release creating space and preventing the Boundary Safety from Inserting in Run Support
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a GT Counter out of TE/Wing - Beautiful!
☑️ Series: Tailback Straight
☑️ Play: Wingback Reverse Pass
☑️ Team: 1950 Princeton
☑️ Coach: Charlie Caldwell
☑️ Notes: Left-handed wingback aids passing from right formation. Notice the right end blocks before releasing into the drag route across the formation.
☑️ Series: Tailback Straight
☑️ Play: Off-Tackle Power
☑️ Team: 1986 Denison
☑️ Coach: Keith Piper
☑️ Notes: A good look at Denison's "Power-6" (solid blocking, limited influence). Love the crippling double team at the point of attack.
☑️ Series: Spin & Buck Lateral Hybrid
☑️ Play: Blocking Back Pass
☑️ Team: 1947 Michigan
☑️ Coach: Fritz Crisler
☑️ Notes: The Mad Magicians' final touchdown in the 1948 Rose Bowl throws in everything but the kitchen sink. The coup de grâce! 🤌🏻
☑️ Series: Tailback Straight
☑️ Play: Off-Tackle Power
☑️ Team: 1950 Princeton
☑️ Coach: Charlie Caldwell
☑️ Notes: Notice the left end is split, and the fullback is set wide as a flanker. The tailback is Dick Kazmaier.
☑️ Series: Buck Lateral
☑️ Play: Jump Pass
☑️ Team: 1965 East Carolina
☑️ Coach: Clarence Stasavich
☑️ Notes: Interesting way to use the buck lateral jump pass to throw a quick slant to the wingback, who is split out as the flanker in a pro formation look.
Fake Reverse (Keeper). Notice the wham trap by the blocking back and the pull-through by the right end. Giles High School (VA), Group AA state champions, 1980.
☑️ Series: Tailback Straight
☑️ Play: Trap
☑️ Team: 1948 North Carolina
☑️ Coach: Carl Snavely
☑️ Notes: With the fullback set as a flanker, tailback Charlie "Choo Choo" Justice explodes up the middle on well-executed trap play.
