A poet, scholar, historian, critic and novelist, he was credited with the revival of Urdu literature, especially from the 18th and 19th centuries. He died of Covid-19.

A sweet childhood memory is eating custard apples (sharifa). When the fruit was close to ripening it was plucked and stored in the rice bin for final readiness. Here is a sharifa still unripe from our Allahabad garden.

My angiogram showed three blockages: 100, 60, 60. My body had made a path to circumvent the 100%. Docs decided against stenting and will use meds to keep the arteries open. Thank you for all the prayers and good vibes. They worked! 💗
