Credit to Gary Lineker, Alex Scott and the rest of the studio, that must have been incredibly hard to be on air and they were measured and well spoken.
Crystal Palace have the best home fans in the Premier League and it isn’t even close. The atmosphere for a nothing midweek game was incredible. What a club.
Marcelo Bielsa sacking seems too soon. Results awful and relegation zone getting closer but with Bamford and Phillips nearly back and given his connection with the supporters, why not wait?
He seemed to just *get* the club. Or am I wrong Leeds fans?
Numerous fights kicking off between England fans behind the home goal in the second half. Same in the concourse at halftime. Saw a father leaving on 85 mins with a kid in tears. Not sure why but this is the worst atmosphere I’ve ever seen at Wembley.
Forget the Wrexham Hollywood stardust, forget Ipswich being the ‘best team in League One’ despite being 3 points behind, forget oil barons Man City winning another Prem title, the real story in English football is LITTLE OLD ARGYLE romping the league on a shoestring budget.
Juventus confirm they have written to Barcelona and Real Madrid to initiate discussions about a “potential exit” from the European Super League.
LaLiga president Javier Tebas has responded with, “Let the last one close the door and turn off the light…”

The quality of Man City v Liverpool is second to none and they're the two best teams on the planet right now but you can't seriously believe that the rivalry itself is as exciting to a neutral as Man Utd v Arsenal with all the hatred and intensity that those years had.
Not sure how it's happened but I've totally changed my opinion of Novak Djokovic over the last couple of months. He seems like a genuinely great person.
The jubilant celebrations of the Ghanaian fans leaving the Al Janoub, despite being eliminated from the World Cup themselves, is something that can only exist through the prism of football.
Jude Bellingham is a phenomenal talent but the fact he’s played the bulk of his career abroad and has no club loyalties to deal with, combined with his golden boy status, has made him totally exempt from criticism.
30 mins into this game he’s had a tantrum, kicking the ground
Norwich fans the best I’ve seen at Home Park in a long, long time. Getting absolutely hammered and still singing the place down. Really impressive.

With the news of the Erling Haaland signing I want to know how many goals YOU would score up front for Man City in a season?
- You start every game of the season including cups & don’t get subbed
- Their cup progression relies on them playing with 10 men & you
- No pens or FKs
Best England team in a lifetime and people are kicking off with each other. So tragically embarrassing and reinforcing every stereotype that the vast majority have worked hard to disprove.

That little chuckle at the end when he realised that there’s video evidence of him, a grown man, who has spent a Friday afternoon stood outside an entrance, singing songs for likes. Wow.

’s TalkSport show suggest Fulham should be loaning out their manager so he regains his confidence. I don’t think I’ll be able to think about anything else tomorrow.
I’m a huge fan of the Nations League but given the calendar and the performances it’s clear they should have sacked it off off this cycle and had it return after the World Cup.
Joe Burrow deserves his share of the praise but come on, that was a team effort, lets talk about the Bengals defense, they were the decisive factor in the second half.
Say it every year but
@Jeff_Reinebold
is such a great addition to the Sky Sports coverage. You can really see the coach coming through when he breaks down film.
There are people you’ll talk to tomorrow who deprived themselves of that incredible game because they haven’t gotten into the sport, or don’t want to. Such a shame.
@DannyJamieson
Yeah it’s not awful really. It felt like Jones & Smalling would be a long term duo, Wilshere would be there if he d didn’t break down and Zaha in the squad too if he’d not changed allegiance.
A lot of England trouble is, in my view, overblown and not the regular match goer but today has been an absolute embarrassment. Change needs to be made immediately.

I’ve laughed at some of the sensationalism about drugs in particular at football, and it is overblown, but today has shocked me. Bar staff shouldn’t serve drunks, sniffer dogs need to be outside and the stewards need to toss people out who are trouble rather than warn them.

Aside the from the tragic real life consequences of this virus, the worst part of lockdown has been realising your childhood hero is a dangerous whack job. Sad.
Some of the performances out there today, wow. Kyle Walker eliminating the threat of Mbappe, Jude Bellingham bossing it and then best of all, Declan Rice. An absolutely incredible display.
This isn't just one of the great British sporting nights, it's one of the best sporting achievements ever. The faultless journey to the final, the performance, the unflappable mentality. Pure greatness from Emma Raducanu.

, quote this with your picks for the greatest World XI under these the rules:
• No two players from the same country
• No two can have played for the same club
• All eleven have to have played in your lifetime
John Motson was the voice of football for so many of us who grew up with him and his voice will forever be associated with some incredible moments. RIP Motty.
