Look at this, it's a children's radio series I wrote all by myself!
Storytime Takeover is a very fun and silly journey through the world of storytelling.
Please do share it with the young folk in your life and also maybe even yourself ✌️
FYRE FESTIVAL FOR KIDS
Strap in folks for I have story about a festival I ALMOST worked at many years ago that essentially turned out to be a massive scam akin to Fyre Fest only it was aimed at families.
And believe me when I say this tale has a killer twist ending.
THREAD
Stephen Donnelly is on newstalk right now talking about how the 31st of June isn't some magical date for vaccination targets
It's not a date at all Stephen.
(gotta tag him,
@DonnellyStephen
loves when you tag him)
I think if Michael D Higgins was cornered by a load of Jim Corr supporters in his gaff he'd snap into action like Yoda at the end of Attack of the Clones
You'd never see us AIB heads, or BAIBs as we call ourselves, get carried away at the ATM like that. We're a more serene, a more gentle, a more dignified sort of bank customer. Why? Because we are brave, and they back brave.
Simple as.
I saw a kid at a soup kitchen on O'Connell Street so I knocked the soup out of their hand & said "do you know the fact you're not paying rent to live anywhere means a landlord might miss a mortgage payment on their 4th house?"
Kid started crying but I know I did the right thing
*Phil Spector in job interview*
"So Phil what would you say is your biggest strength?"
"Music production probably."
"Very good. And what would you say is your biggest flaw?"
"Murder."
We've Eamonn Ryan saying there's nothing he can do about energy price hikes, Darragh O'Brien saying nothing he can do about the student housing crisis, Stephen Donnelly wiped his hands of the maternity hospital visitation issues ages ago...so what exactly is this Government for?
Hi Folks,
I made a handy explainer video to bring us all up to speed on the Katherine Zappone/Leo Varadkar/everybody scandal that is currently engulfing Irish politics.
Hope you enjoy.
We're always told that being a landlord is a difficult job, but also it's somehow manageable to be a landlord of 11 properties while being a Government minister
Our ICU capacity is still 300 despite the biggest public health emergency the world has seen. That's the thing to be getting mad about.
Scientists aren't gonna stop doing modelling cause results are grim, but they wouldn't be so grim if we had a functioning gov & health service
"Excuse me while I tell you you are wrong before showing several graphs that ultimately prove you right before finishing up with a slightly reworded version of your initial point"
Just got this on whatsapp:
"Speaking to my friend who's a guard & he said airport lockdown being announced tomorrow to come into effect on Weds at 11. Airport will be open for a few hours each day with army outside allowing people in every now & then. He said to defintely panic"
I love how Leo Varadkar, a man famously out of touch with the electorate, thinks reminding everybody that Pearse Doherty got into some hassle with the Gardai when he was 21 is some form of gotcha
A homeless man asked me for change earlier so I said "don't you know we're ranked second in the world for quality of life?" and he vanished into thin air.
Well done to
@FergalBowers
on standing with the journalists refused entry to Donnelly's briefing.
It's far easier to say nothing in difficult situations like this. His actions not only showed solidarity with his colleagues but also highlighted how Donnelly wants to operate.
For the record I think everybody should be entitled to their privacy even hypocritical shits like Sarah.
It's just good to point out that they are hypocritical shits.
There's a very strange thing happening with Norma Foley in the media.
Logic would suggest that letting the virus tear through schools, infecting kids and forcing families into isolation, is a bad thing.
But instead she's getting praised.
Is this some form of collective denial?
"If I was a first time buyer now, in my 20s or 30s, thinking about buying my first home, I'd be very worried about a change of government"
Deluded to the point his friends should be concerned.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said that he believes that the housing crisis is on the "cusp of changing" with house prices starting to level off or fall |
Can we all just take a second to appreciate how completely awful and toxic Leo Varadkar is for Irish politics?
The amount of hassle caused by his ego for a man who can only express himself through novelty socks.
Nobody wants to talk about it, but we are facing a mental health epidemic in this country: men in their 40s forgetting they own a house.

#LetsMakePossible
So a priest goes on a hate filled rant against the LGBTQ community, and ends up on The News at One, Liveline, and Newstalk to repeat said rant, all on the same day?
There's something completely horrific about all of that I can't quite put my fingers on
*me in a car showroom*
"How much is that car?"
"Well for a couple it's just €7000 each."
"That's an odd way of telling me the price, is there something wrong with you?"
Imagine being in Government for 11 years and claiming the opposition's ideology responsible for the housing crisis.
It's so stupid I'm embarrassed for anybody who can vote for this shit.
So Katherine Zappone's new role, which she invented and lobbied for herself, works out at €250 per day worked, international travel, expenses, enhanced ministerial pension, access to a secretary...& these people were trying to convince us it's an insignificant amount earlier?
Hi all, please check out my gaming channel, here is a quick clip of me playing the Irish Government's new game "Lockdown Level System" where I'll be trying to figure out if it's possible to unlock Level 5 restrictions while playing Level 3.
"The housing crisis is bad"
"Actually if you look at this graph it isn't so bad"
"but with the cost living crisis it's hard to make ends meet"
"According to the inflation index it's only moderately difficult to make ends meet"
"I'm sad"
"Not according to the happiness index"
Last night I looked my GF in the eye & said "hey, all that stuff you have to go through as a woman? Now that I have a a daughter, I finally get it, I understand the plight of woman now."
She ran off crying. It's an emotional subject. Which I get, because I have a daughter now.
Yesterday Paschal Donohue was telling us how as a nation we are in a dire debt situation, today he's telling us a man got an €81k raise during a pandemic because his job was an important job.
Mishandling of Covid = NPHET's fault
Housing Crisis = Sinn Fein's fault
The Government are so lucky that the two main crises they face are somebody else's fault.
Devastated. And for anybody who thinks this is good news: I hope you some alternative suggestions for where Facebook and Google employees are going to go for team building exercises.
*me showing aliens around town*
"And this is the hospital where we treat sick and injured people. Arms, legs, organs, eyes, you name it!"
"Teeth?"
"Hahaha no what the fuck"
Last night I went to the cinema on my own, & when the rest of the audience realised I was on my own they started booing me & pelting me with drinks and popcorn until I left.
Can we please normalise doing stuff on your own? This is the 9th evening in a row this has happened to me
Footage of the people of Ireland reacting to Leo Varadkar's "there's little point in reopening things that you then have to close 3 weeks later" comment in the Dáil today.
Something beautiful about the Irish language is how the phrase "I am broke" doesn't translate literally.
When spoken in Irish, "Tá mé briste" translates directly to "a Fianna Fáil/Fine Gael Government are gouging the fuck out of me again"
And I think that's beautiful.
When Leo was caught sharing confidential documents to a pal he accepted it was wrong but insisted he did it for the right reasons
Now he's caught breaking covid guidelines & his argument is it was within the law but against the guidelines
How toxic a leader is too toxic for FG?
@GeogheganCllr
Hi James big fan of you & your shirt
I think it was very brave of you to establish an anti abortion party to..help spur the yes side on? Was that the plan?
Also I hear they're looking for someone to light the lamps in the park every evening, I think you'd be perfect for the job
You know what's great?
A load of people replying to a video you made saying how happy it made them and it was just what they needed today.
Honestly, it's the business.
Cool it only took 12 years for FF to get another Taoiseach in. Cool that I'll never get to own a house in Ireland. Cool there's no money designated for the arts. Cool that a seismic election result ended with the most regressive outcome possible. We are just a very cool country.
Good to see he's gone from promising upfront cash payments to demanding them himself.
And that is the story of Wondefest 2014 aka Fyre Fest for Kids
In summary: I don't think this guy should be getting HSE contracts.
Today a co-living development in Phibsboro was approved & I can't help but think back to this sneering reply from our housing minister when Eoin O'Broin looked for some clarity on what his "ban" actually meant
They sneer at you for pointing out the obvious & hide when it happens
Much like people taking photos in public toilets to try whip up hysteria, the premise here is that the person lurking outside filming children at a children's event is the normal one.
