Meanwhile, children born overseas to M'sian women face delays and rejections with no guarantee of approval. Many are living here, some waiting to return to M'sia. Many children born out of a legal marriage to M'sian men are living in M'sia stateless.

JPN has informed us that they will be issuing instructions to all other JPN offices in the country as well as Malaysian Embassies and High Commissions to facilitate Malaysian mothers in obtaining their overseas-born children's citizenship-related documents. #sayaJUGAanakMalaysia

Her child often feels othered due to her non-citizen status and language barriers. She also has begun to feel inferior to her younger brother who is Malaysian. She knows that he does not have to face what she faces, eg: obtaining visas, extra expenses as a foreigner.

Rachel Ng telah memohon kewarganegaraan utk anaknya di bawah Perkara 15(2) pd 2015. Semasa menyusul status pd Ogos 2022, dia diberitahu ia dlm proses. Apabila dia menyusul semula pd Mac 2023, dia mendapat tahu ia ditolak. Namun begitu, surat penolakan bertarikh 24 Jun 2020.
