The El-Rufai I know (Part I)
By Fahad Longman
During one of our seminars that Mallam moderated sometime in May 2023, we were discussing a topic that is affiliated with one of the faiths. He asked my colleague Haruna Yusuf to elaborate on the topic which he adequately did.
βWe have no apology to anybody that we invited one of our own as a Muslim preacher to come and talk to us about Islam and the Quran. And we will do it again and again. Because we believe in what we tell one another and we have to tell ourselves the truthβ¦β
- Sultan of Sokoto
We will invite you again and again. We will even build a house and give you a residence permit. You can even relocate your family to Nigeria. You can choose wherever you want to live in the country, and I would suggest that you have a house in each region. Letβs spread knowledge.
Dear Aunty
@hadizabalausman
,
I write to notify you that Iβve appointed myself as your Technical Assistant. My first three months will be voluntary and after then will send my salary package. Thank you and looking forward to making this a reality.
Please RT until she accepts.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I introduce to you Nathaniel Samuel who attempts bombing a church in Kaduna state. Most of them wonβt talk about this or comment on this because he is neither a Hausa/Fulani nor Muslim. If he was one of the earlier Twitter would have freeze by now.

Always a pleasure being around him. And please, everyone should CALM DOWN!
This is
@HafizBayero
!
One of Mallamβs finest and strongest pillars. He resigned from his job to campaign for Mallam in 2015. He became a powerful face in Mallamβs administration because of his hard work, dedication and resilience. Heβs a go-getter!
Thank you Malam
@elrufai
for this lifetime opportunity to learn from your wealth of experience. You are indeed a leader worth learning from, and I will forever remain grateful to you for giving me this opportunity to serve as a fellow of
@KDSG_KIF
and also your Special Assistant.
At a dinner this night, Senator
@ubasanius
mentioned that Mallam
@elrufai
is an institution.
Mallam is indeed a national asset that needs to be preserved.
Who am I to forget what God has done for me!
The earlier tweet was when I was dreaming of having Mallam
@elrufai
as my mentor. And in less than a year my dream became real.
My sincere gratitude to Allah always!
If I have the chance to pick a mentor today, I will pick Mallam
@elrufai
. He is one of the Nigerian leaders I have always look up to because of his wealth of creativity and experience in leadership. He has placed Kaduna state in the global map through his transformations.
Today is my 30th birthday. My past three decades have been an exciting journey filled with memories and experiences. I have grown up to become who I am despite many ups and downs, but I thank Allah for all the gifts. Cheers to a decade of action and impact π₯π
Had an awesome session with Maryam Uwais, Special Advisor to the President on Social Investment. It was great learning from her wealth of knowledge and experience.
I completed the Legislative Mentrship Initiative
@Officiallmi_Ng
and was conferred a Fellowship title yesterday. I would like to appreciate the Chief of Staff to Mr President
@femigbaja
for creating this opportunity aimed at building the next generation of public service leaders.
Mallam
@elrufai
at 64!
Happy birthday to one of the best leaders Iβve ever met. A leader who cares and listens. A compassionate leader with empathy. A knowledgeable leader worth learning from. A leader who sacrifices his time to build the next generation of leaders.
This is Mallam
@elrufai
βs appreciation post. Thank you for all you are doing for Nigerians. You are a selfless leader and have once again proven it with your $100m venture capital to support business growth in our dear country. We are proud to be trained by you.

The El-Rufai I know: Not a Religious Bigot
By Fahad Longman
I've read on numerous pages and publications that Mallam el-Rufai was labelled as a religious bigot by publishers, and I'm curious as to how they arrived at that decision or what criteria they used to characterise him.
In 2023, God has blessed me with growth and gave me courage and confidence. I have defined my values and identified my WHY. I met global leaders and learned from seasoned politicians.
I met VP
@KashimSM
and learned from his wealth of experience as a seasoned professional.
When your people are doing amazing and making a surprising event which will bring unity, peace and development, then youβve nothing to say than thank the Almighty.

A tragic event that led to the death of our love ones. October 29, 2006 was a day we lost family and friends including Sultan Muhammadu Maccido, his son Senator Badamasi, Senator Ghandi and many more.
May Allah forgive them and grant them Jannatul Firdaws, ameen.
He would not like his bag/ luggage to be carried, he serves meals himself and joins queues with the public instead of getting VIP treatment. He also uses the same restroom with the public at work, he even encourages bosses to do that to enhance good hygiene in an environment.
Paid a courtesy visit to a brother and boss, Muhammad Jammal

Mallam is someone worth watching and learning from. Just like Senator Uba Sani said, βMallam is an institution.β And that is the shortest definition one could identify Mallam as.

The Chairman of

Mr

built a pedestrian bridge linking UDUS Hostel and the lectures area. It has been long time since students were complaining and now the work is done.
Over the years, it has become clear to me that to succeed in public service, one must have acquired a certain level of anger with our failures as a society, and be willing to damn all consequences to change things for the better.

Sokoto is locked down for APC!

How can I put someone with wisdom like you on a hot seat? It was great talking to you yesterday my brother

Do our leaders remember they will be judged and account for all that happens? Yβday more than 70 persons were killed by gunmen in Sabon Birni LG of SOKOTO and nobody talks about it.
Are we going to keep shouting

or the relevant authorities will act immediately?

β Excerpts from The Accidental Public Servant
It is impossible to graduate from Mallam's school of leadership. He is not just a leader but also a genius and strategic leader. He is a selfless, devoted, and determined leader who works very hard.
Our visionary, Mallam
@elrufai
, has turned 63 today.
I understand that Mallam did that because he knew Haruna is well knowledgeable in the area.
Mallam is someone that will ask questions when he doesnβt understand. He will not pretend about something he doesnβt know. He seeks clarification on matters that are not clear to him.
He is open to constructive criticism and debates. He doesnβt allow his role to dictate how he treats people. Mallam is down-to-earth, humble, compassionate, and kind.
A scholar was preaching and without knowing his last breath was closer, he suddenly uttered βLa ilaaha illa Allahβ which happens to be his last words. This is one of the scariest video Iβve ever watched. Subhanallah!

I call on Sheikh to bring more of our talented Youth closely in achieving the DE.
He is that leader that admires building people and gives them room to make mistakes. He allows his mentees and staff to make mistakes so that they could be corrected. He sometimes says if you donβt make mistakes where else would you learn?
I like and respect Emir Sanusi but to those thinking Kano Emirate is ahead of the almighty Sultanate of Sokoto should kindly cool their temper with this picture.

An incident happened during one of our international trips. He was supposed to be picked up by a separate vehicle as a VIP, but after his arrival, he decided not to take it. He rather joined us on a bus where we chatted and laughed.
Mallam is a leader everyone should watch closely!
Mallam is someone who adores talent and excellence. He gives room to people to showcase their talents and offers them opportunities. He doesnβt care whether you are 20 years old or less, so far you can deliver.
