College football starts on August 24th.
(FSU-GT in Dublin is the highlight.)
The NFL is back on September 5th.
(KC will host either LAC, DEN, LV, TB, NO, HOU, CIN, or BAL.)
We have about 200 days to live…life.
Almost 30 weeks of living and stuff.
Happy offseason.
Enjoy.
😉
Never in my life did I ever think I was gonna read anything remotely close to this about me.
The fact that it comes from someone with vast knowledge and years of watching both MMA & soccer like
@lthomasnews
means even more.
Thank you, man! Made my day. 😊
For those wondering, it was Diego Lopes himself that requested this Fight Week to be “in Spanish”. Same for his first fight. He asked to do everything in Portuguese for his second fight.
Next? Who knows. It’s his choice.
Probably Portuguese, but…
…maybe even English.

The NFL will host a regular season game in São Paulo, Brazil, next year, per
@danlacalle
.
The game will be played at Arena Corinthians — a 50,000-seat stadium that hosted 6 matches during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Brazil is the NFL's 3rd-largest market (behind the US & Mexico).
Before ANYONE says ANYTHING, it was AGREED with Diego Lopes (AFTER the fight, when he came to tell Joe Rogan he’ll be the champion of the division) that “one answer will be in Spanish, another one in Portuguese, and another one in English”.
Order? “Freestyle”, he said.

On the real. The translater is doing a terrible job and very unprofessional. You can’t decide to censor/change the meaning of the athlete just because it’s rude. It’s your job to explain the information that’s it. You aren’t the censorship police.
Did I stutter a litte bit? Yeah, maybe…
I also didn’t have saying “I love you honey, and I hope to spend the rest of my life with you” in my 2023 bingo card.
When you wake up in the morning…
…and you think about doing stuff…
…think twice, three times, even…
…about criticizing people…
…without knowing…
…absolutely…
…anything…
…at all.
Or…
…🤡.

Need to break up with bae, but can’t break through the language barrier?
Say less. Let me say it for you.

My brain froze, my heart stopped, my soul left me, and I was speechless. 🫥
I heard voices in my head, loud & clear.
They all told me to “S…T…F…U…”
And that,
@RJcliffordMMA
…
…is how I am still alive.

And I behaved, I think.
Thank you, guys!
Muito obrigado!

The UFC’s Portuguese/Spanish translator is not merely good at his job, but has a hell of a story.
I wanted to learn more about
@fabianobuskei
, so I spoke to him about learning so many languages, the key to effective translation and his unique background.
A reminder of the stupidity in comparing the most powerful domestic sports league in the world and its yearly calendar with a month-long tournament of the only true global sport on the planet played every four years between nations.
Enjoy your final-less leagues.
Points.
Ew.
