The only thread on Brighton you'll need:
• Is Pascal Groß's positioning too deep?
• Will Estupinan play LCB?
• Are Joao Pedro's minutes secure?
And more...
[ A Thread🧵]
Saka completed 6 crosses and created 4 big chances.
Made 8 key passes and had 8 successful dribbles.
Won 2 fouls and had 2 SOnTs.
And had a 90% pass completion rate.
Since the BPS system is designed to reward performances and not just G+A, Saka earning 3 BPS feels deserved.
Brighton: A New Beginning
• Hürzeler's principles in and out of possession
• Rotation—a guarantee with increased squad depth?
• João Pedro's versatility

Not a good look at all. Especially if the apology comes mid game.
Regardless, there shouldn’t have been a need for an apology in the first place.
Burnley’s social media/marketing team is top-notch. The amount of additional publicity these videos are getting, especially for a newly promoted club, is incredible.
Moreover, Berge is a wonderful signing.
A João Pedro update:
“Yeah so… he made a training session today and we shouldn’t, we don’t want to go any risk for today, and let’s see how the next days will be.”
(Via "Official Brighton & Hove Albion FC" on YouTube)
Lewis Dunk doesn’t get the plaudits he deserves.
I’ve seen people praising Estupinan for this, and deservedly so, but there's no mention of Dunk’s pass to him in the first place.
Picture. Perfect.
He’s pivotal to RDZ’s system.

For any Welbeck enthusiasts out there, wrt xMins:
Hürzeler praised Evan Ferguson, someone who’s a natural "target man" near the box.
He said Ferguson's going to get more game time, and was going to be subbed on earlier than he was vs. Forest.
And he's been training well.
If Bournemouth stick with Andoni Iraola, there will soon be a resurgence—a time when they surge up the table, and all talk of relegation will be subdued.
The injuries haven't helped matters, but I hope that time is allowed to come.
Fabian Hürzeler’s confident Minteh will be back next week:
“We have to keep looking at him, how he reacts now, but I am quite confident he will be back next week.”
(Via the Argus)
Before the season began, I was confident that there was a clear and delineated top 8.
But now, my confidence is wavering. Lineations are blurring.
Essentially, Brighton are just one CB away from me writing the most hyperbolic poem to ever exist.

@brfootball
This needs context surely?
Did well against City
Sure, they should’ve finished their chances against Liverpool
And yes they were poor vs Brighton
They did dominate Villa though
And all four of their opponents are in Europe this season. Not easy.
@FPL_Harry
There’s a lot of hindsight bias around Salah right now, imo.
We could’ve been seeing a completely different scenario had Jota not gotten injured (which is akin to the info we had pre-deadline).
I might be able to post a thread on Brighton’s assets around midday on Friday.
Aside from:
🔸Groß
🔸Joao Pedro
🔸Estupinan (and his LCB) prospects
Is there anyone or anything you want to know about?👇
All you need to know ahead of GW 14
🔸Players to Buy
🔸Captaincy
🔸Players to sell
The FPL sphere is quite saturated, so this thread/article is (somewhat) funny.
Come for the FPL info, and leave with a few laughs.

Kadioğlu feels like he’s £0.5m too cheap, but this *should* be another ‘Dunk for the xMins’ scenario.
There’s plenty of competition for the LB/RB spots.
And even though Kadioğlu will likely become first choice, why risk it?
For the short term at least.
De Zerbi is demanding more from Pervis Estupinan in the embargoed section of his press conference (via the Argus):
“Pervis is another very good player.
“Last season he played very well. This season he can play better.
“I am not happy with his performances. He can play better.

Hürzeler on João Pedro in his post-match interview:
“I think João is a player who can decide the game with one action.
But for me, it was like today, impressive how he works against the ball.
He was always there, he was always supporting his teammates, he was good in
FPL wise, this lowers João Pedro and Minteh’s xMins (along with every other attacker).
But as for Brighton, this transfer window…
Gruda and Wieffer are in an entirely different stratosphere in terms of calibre.
Factor in Minteh and pre-existing links? Words fail me.

Total verbal agreement is done. 20 y/o winger and top talent from Mainz 05

Bellingham’s had a lovely start to his career.
I hope fame and success don’t get to his head, because the longevity he could have at the top level… elite.

The first of 2 FPL videos together this week. You’re not going to want to miss this.
For anyone playing Euros Fantasy, Mittelstädt (£4.0m) is a bargain.
And I prefer him to Rudiger/Tah.
His minutes are secure, he’s usually fairly advanced, and Germany look good.
Their fixtures are great as well: Scotland, Hungary, Switzerland.
🕊️ João Pedro
I have to warn you—this section is likely full of hyperbole and enough superlatives to exhaust a thesaurus.
In other words, this may as well be a love letter to João Pedro.
These were Pedro’s first minutes in pre-season, but, watching him play, you’d never have
@FPL_Heisenberg
Isn't Chelsea being 15th sort of redundant if the previous few examples are about goals conceded?
Chelsea have conceded the third-lowest goals per game (second overall, but with a game less). It's more down to the attack than the defence, but that doesn't bolster Haaland.
That's the end of the thread.
I hope you enjoyed, in which case please consider liking and retweeting it. (A bookmark wouldn't go amiss either🕊️).
I'm happy to answer any questions and consider any suggestions you may have as well.
See you tomorrow with "Predicting De Zerbi!"
