There's some lovely things turning up in these north easterlies, with a smart frosty northern race Treecreeper found by Rich on the cliffs near Muckle Uri Geo and brief views of Great Grey Shrike, The Black-bellied Dipper and Shorelarks are also still with us.

A special ringing record for #FairIsleFriday - yesterday the team successfully caught an adult winter Red-throated Diver that had found itself on Easter Lother Water, leading to the second ringing record in #FairIsle ! The first was ringed in 1996! 📸’s @Georgia_Platt_

Third record of Black Kite for Fair Isle today, picked up by Richard heading up the coast over Ward Hill and out over North Light. It definitely wasn't hanging around, even a bit of mist offshore didn't deter it from carrying on north.

Every cloud and all that... Running out of bin bags meant a dash to the shop in miserable weather just before it closed, but on the way, Susannah found this very smart Rose-coloured Starling at Upper Stoneybrek! Hopefully it will stick around until the sun comes out.
