Last year, St Anne's took part in the T-Pylon project and created a time capsule to be buried under one of the new pylons. Excitingly, our school won the draw and we have been awarded £1000! We hope to spend this on some STEM activities.

As chefs, Y3 loved creating their seasonal tarts today. We practiced our chopping, grating and peeling skills to work safely in the kitchen and worked as a team to create five different flavoured tarts.

As artists, Y3 had a go at creating their own artwork inspired by the cave art we have explored already. We used sand to create textures and chalk and charcoal for the background and images.

Year 3 had a brilliant trip to Cheddar Gorge and caves today. We learnt more about Cheddar Man and life in Mesolithic Britain. Behaviour was fantastic and I was blown away by how much they could remember from our learning in class. Well done Y3 Crew.

For the last month, we have been observing our bean plants grow to investigate what are the best conditions for plant growth. We learnt that a lack of nutrients can impact how high a plant grows but that sunlight and water are essential for growth.

As scientists, Year 3 explored forces this afternoon. We looked at how the friction of a surface impacts how a car travels on it. We learnt that smoother surfaces provide less friction so a car can travel on it more easily.
