As part of our preparations for the upcoming bushfire season, agencies across the Mallee district came together for the 54th Annual Big Desert & Wyperfeld Fire Conference in Yanac last month.

When a bush or grass fire starts on public land, our Operations Officers on the scene are responsible for planning and directing how the fire will be managed. These 24 experienced firefighters recently completed their Operations Officer training, testing their ability to:
