وعد أحمد متو، مؤسس حزب التقدم الإيزيدي، يُعتبر سجينًا سياسيًا إيزيديًا في سجون إقليم كردستان العراق. تم اعتقاله في عام 2014 أثناء توجهه إلى معبد لالش، ويُلاحظ أنه اعتقل بتهمة تشكيل خطر على أمن القومية الكردية. ومكان احتجازه لا يزال مجهولًا حتى الآن.

In 2014, France announced it would send arms to besieged Èzidi fighters on Mount Sinjar. Unfortunately, the weapons were diverted to Erbil in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, where they were stolen, leaving the trapped Èzidi fighters without the aid they desperately needed.
