Someone pointed out some time ago that in the US it can mean something rather awful. I thought about changing it but then, if we vow not to bow for Nazis, then surely I won't have them decide what I can or cannot do. Thank you all for speaking up, though!

Serious question: why do they, and apparently many Russians, believe that Ukraine is a threat to them? I just can't get my head around that.

She always appears very truthful so there is no reason to doubt that the Russian POWs are telling her this. It is just so gruesome that I cannot really get my head around how this is possible.

I remember from a few months back a commander saying to one of his soldiers "we're fine if you switch to camouflage nail polish" which sounded very Ukraine 2023 to me.

You know, I'm one of those Europeans who believed the US had to withdraw it's military influence in Europe asap. I was wrong. I now find myself cheering every time the US sends more hardware and shares intelligence with Ukraine.

Pretty hilarious how some men respond to this news by explaining the mechanisms of races to prove why this is not sexism. Though perhaps not so much hilarious as wearing.
Zo, Caroline vd Plas kan een berg onzin uitkramen, gรชnant. Het punt van de advocaat, dat vrije keuzes ook consequenties hebben, mag wel vaker worden gemaakt.

I respectfully disagree. Those in the Russian and Belarus organisations have been persecuted and worse. If there is a call for Russians and Belarusians to fight their leadership then surely when they do, they deserve recognition. Different peoples fighting the same oppressors?

More than 100 ๐บ๐ฆsettlements in 8 regions came under artillery fire. In particular, Kherson was also hit. Houses, outbuildings and infrastructure facilities were damaged. 7 people were wounded, including a three-year-old child.

As someone who worked in marketing for a big company, I know that if there is room to use assignments and budget for something better, there are always people who seize that opportunity. It's not always there but even in corporate circles, some people do try sincerely.

The former Dutch defence chief said: we let the invasion of Crimea pass in 2014. A mistake that Ukraine is now paying the price for. He also said that only UA can decide what its objectives are and we must support them speedily. That sort of clarity is needed more, I think.

It frightens me how a lot of people seem to think it is okay for the police to do anything just because they decide you cannot be there. That is not how it works, even during a rally or a curfew. No measure is a permit to use force indiscriminately.

So maybe the US officials should advice their president to do what it promised: help UA win instead of prolonging this war. Then NATO-membership will make russia think twice about sending more drones.

Before the fullscale invasion it seemed a terrible idea to have a businessman/entertainer for president. To our surprise, he turned out to be a more than excellent war leader. I read in an interview that he said when the war broke out, he learned to drop the petty grievances.
