In 2016, to start playing, players would pay 1 eth to mint a city, and deposit 1 eth as the city's treasury, used to build resources and armory. When conquering another city, a player will take over the conquered city and earn its treasury (a mechanism now disabled)

2/ Etherization was written as a fun game experiment in 2016, by a doxxed Croatian developer - Vedran Kajic, who essentially created the 1st ever P2E game on Ethereum and one of the three earliest NFTs (on Ethereum).

9/ There is one issue - who is allowed to change the addresses of the two Utils contracts that have privileges to reassign ownership of cities? The answer - the owner of the “Wizard” wallet, who is obviously - Vedran.

Only 49 cities were minted in 2016 before players stopped playing the game. These are the greyed-out squares on the Etherization map (some have been replaced by city images after old players recently wrapped them for OS trading using the wrapper)
