@victory_taste I think the conversation is pushing towards a big 4 than dethroning magic. There's more to a TCG than just tournament attendance, and MTG sells insane volume. While I think OPTCG is pushing at that door, I'd give it another couple years. Resilience over multiple years matters

While I can appreciate the sentiment, most TCGs would go under if they printed the way Pokemon does that facilitates min rarity costing nothing. I think leaning on rare alt arts definitely helps, but again only financially viable if people care about the alts in the first place

At 3-3, my first Pokemon TCG event is over. While the game leaves to be desired at times, I had an absolute blast at NAIC and my opponents were all amazing and patient with me. Maybe we grind out the new season next year 😁

Learning the base game gives 0 context into how the game ACTUALLY plays. Whereas with say, mtg, while at ahigh level it's more nuanced. It's still: land cast go

@MTG_Arena We need more details on codes/special XP events. From what we have now, I will not reach level 100 by end of season, AND I miss a level for every day I don't play up to 3 wins + quest, which asking for ~72 consecutive days of hour+ long play is nuts for a non mobile game

It's very difficult to support Fusion World with just how awful the meta has been AND how bad card acquisition is for the online client Context for One Piece Players, I would rather be playing Newgate meta. If they don't announce anything by the end of the week I'm quitting.

@SaffronOlive There's cost to hosting an event at a venue, and coordinating people into pods, having prizing etc. When all systems in place, this is not true for Brawlidays, and is a cash grab on what is free for every other format that has a consistent queue in the game atm

Agreed, total embarrassment. Internet is something you account for when you pick your venue in the first place. Live should be a mandatory req, not a nice to have. Now all my friends and family get the joy of watching me play a world championship months after I played it 🙄

Looks like NONE of the Card Fest/Games are going to be livestreamed this year. This is an INCREDIBLE loss for all of the Bandai Card Games Communities. I understand limitations/constraints BUT, as someone who has done a LOT of in-person coverage personally, it's boggling.
