We are safe.
A tiny town 5 miles away has been completely destroyed and lots of our friends and neighbors have lost their homes tonight. So much difficulty for our community piling atop the pandemic and jobs lost. Please, please pray for these people.
I don’t care if people think she’s weird. If she’s an innocent, naive social outcast. I’ll protect Helen from devices and social media until she’s grown. What is happening, y’all? Let’s protect our children from digital addiction. It’s our job.
This man worked from sun up till dark, in the rain, building a pier on our pond and when I finally dragged in at 7:00 from ballet practice with 2 wild and hungry baby girls he had supper on the table for them (shrimp, veggies, mac and cheese) and I could not love him more.
Yeah, you’re right. My husband’s loving gestures that make me feel less nervous because I’m introverted and being on camera is not the easiest thing for me - so creepy. That’s why I keep my arm around his waist, just trying to push him away. 😏 But uh... thanks for watching?
we’ve made 100 episodes of
#hgtvhometown
and we celebrated with every single person who has been part of it: homeowners, crew, production and vendors. we are just so lucky to be part of this.
Though we only had the pleasure of knowing him for a few short months, we are heartbroken to tell you that our friend Mr. John Combe from one of our favorite episodes of all time passed away on April 4 here in Laurel. He will be so missed. ❤️

Going to be late to the live tweet for

Guys, I know y’all miss Mike. We do too! He’s on a leave of absence caring for a family member with a long term illness. We’re in good hands though with our new hardwood restoration experts Terry and Mike (!) You’re gonna love them!
#HGTVHomeTown
so while filming this episode of
#HomeTownTakeover
, helen broke her leg in the MIDDLE of the rose house reveal. we had to stop filming and show them the other half of it two days later. the roses waited so patiently, god love em!
Helen, in the backseat with her arm outstretched with her ice powers while “Let it Go” plays. Ben starts singing along. She snaps: “DADDY STOP SINGING. IT’S FOR GIRLS!!!!”
PSA: we are working on a house that has been smoked in for many many years. A six hour treatment with an ozone generator that cost $99 has completely gotten rid of the smell in the 4000 square-foot house.

hi, since you’re not part of our crew and haven’t read about our covid protocols on set you don’t know we all test twice weekly and we still stay apart from folks when unmasked and no one is on set without testing, but it’s more fun to really burn us like you know what’s up huh
This season felt different. It was very special. Every story, and every home. Thank you for watching it, and for spreading the gospel of small town love! 💓 Now, on to season 5!
#hgtvhometown

My sister-in-law tells me my niece is an outcast because she doesn’t have a phone or social media. She is 9. She also didn’t see the viral suicide video that popped up on tik tok that traumatized her cousin and friends.
It’s been a hard secret to keep, but we can finally tell you...
#HGTVHomeTown
season FOUR is on the way! So glad we’ve still got plenty of opportunities for cheesy promo photos ahead of us,

and more opportunity to intimately know people from all circles and walks of life. Until you’ve lived in and loved a small town, try not to make blanket assumptions about them.
If median rent in NYC for a 1 bedroom apartment is $3,500 and an average mortgage in MS for a 2 bedroom home is $800, you tell me which one is fantasy and which one is more inclusive. Which is more attainable for POC? For single parents? I hope you can visit someday and see. 💓
I’ve been waiting for this weekend and this
#HGTVHomeTown
episode all season, and I hope you won’t miss it either! Sunday, April 11 we’ll bring home our little brother, Jesse, and his wife, Lauren.
This sawmill scene at Neil’s woodshop was filmed on
@scotsmanco
’s birthday 🥳🎉 Ben’s mama made him a big supper and a red velvet cake that night at our airbnb. We dragged in after 7 pm, absolutely worn out. I was pregnant and didn’t know it, we were zombies!

It’s sad to me you feel that way. There is no perfect place, but this place and other rural communities are as valuable and vital as any metropolis. It’s affordable and attainable. There is value in knowing the people living around you...
Mae was still in my belly this episode but right now she’s babbling and THISCLOSE to saying “Dada” and that is a surreal thing to think about. 😍

We’re in bad shape as a state, Mississippi. If you have a wreck there may not be an ICU that can take you. Let’s do all we can to be the fire line for the virus, let it stop with you when it’s spreading.

season 4 premieres Monday, January 20 at 9|8 ct! It’s our best season ever. Seriously. A loft, the real life “Little House,” stories about settling down after traveling the world, saving childhood homes, and one project that’s very personal for
@scotsmanco
& me.
My thoughts on
#TopGun
, not that they matter, watching it felt a little like falling in love. Unexpected, because I only cared for the first one in a nostalgic way. But my heart raced, I felt ALL THE EMOTIONS. Holy smokes. What an elegant, triumphant film. 🇺🇸
just making sure y’all know that
#hgtvhometown
is back tomorrow (sunday) night january 7 at 8/7 ct and it’s gonna be very good. you’ll find out how this happened last march:
@ErinRNapier
I'm not going to believe you have had your baby yet!! Unless I hear it from you!! Blessings for an easy labor, and for a healthy baby!!💜💜💜☮☮☮🌹🌹🌹
I spent an afternoon with him filming Ben’s Workshop and I was so impressed with he and Allison’s easy kindness and playfulness with the precious kids we filmed with that day at the social club. He radiated joy and genuine caring. This is so shocking. God bless their family.
Hating people for who they vote for is like hating people for their unchangeable past life experiences. You have to just accept it and learn to love people even with their differences. People with different beliefs can love each other. Can we please try harder?
After a tornado devastated their house, Laurel came together to repair the Hollingsworths' home. The paint colors needed to convey a sense of peace after their family was displaced. The family now has their house back and it's looking better than ever, thanks to

Erin needs a reality check. It seems as though she considers this her show. It’s always “I want to do this or that”. She completely takes over. Plus her style is terrible. Shabby I say. Love Ben but cannot take her. Won’t be watching much longer if it continues.
Tonight is the night!
#HomeTownTakeover
season 2 premieres at 8/7 ct on
@hgtv
and it’ll probably make you cry. That’s just how it is. I don’t make the rules.
So thankful for our amazing crews and teams on
#HGTVHomeTown
and
#HomeTownTakeover
who’ve gone WAY OUT OF THEIR WAY to keep me, Ben, Helen and the babe safe during a pandemic. 💓
Thank you to the entire
#HGTVHomeTown
team for supporting
@scotsmanco
and
@ErinRNapier
especially at this time. A healthy working environment is achieved with mindful baby steps each and every day.
In the span of 4 months last fall and winter, during a global pandemic, 5 hours from home,
@scotsmanco
and I gave it our everything to help teach a little town in Alabama everything we’ve learned about small town revitalization in our 13 years of work in Laurel.

Arkansas hospitalizations for Covid-19 have risen nearly fourfold in just over a month, said a Republican state legislator and emergency room doctor. The patients he is seeing are younger and younger. “We’re full. The hospital is full.”
