@BrianSweet1970 Amateur radio operators can bounce a radio signal off of the moon and the time it takes the signal to come back matches predictions given that distance. We know how fast the signal is moving because if we were wrong we would build antennas incorrectly.

@BrianSweet1970 No one would have to land on the moon for this to happen. Radio signals can be bounced off of the surface of the moon. The signal takes just as long as would be expected given the distance.

@rachelrogers81 If you photograph meteors like I do you will see there are many satellites up there. When the sun is below the horizon satellites being high enough to be in sunlight become obvious.

@AJamesMcCarthy It definitely was a starlink train. Likely from from launch: Starlink G5-3, 02 February 2023 07:58. Was imaged on 2/11/2023. Here is a chart from Heaven's above. You can see the trail goes by Mars which is in the upper left of my frame.

@carlos_castillo Here is a single exposure I took that also shows that it was the moon. First is unaltered accept to resize to post. 2nd is with some levels adjustments to bring out the lunar surface detail. 92mm f/5.5 refractor. 1/2sec exposure at ISO 100

@RyanVoutilainen I sometimes wonder about this one I captured in 2010. Streamer of just a reflection in the lower right? Through glass with water drops which may have added to reflection possibilities. Captured numerous much brighter strikes without the effect same night.

My radio meteor detection system is showing signs of aurora propagation from Southern Minnesota. The dot and the narrow line are from meteor propagation. The constant wider fuzzy line is what aurora propagation looks like. #Auroraborealis

@pronounced_kyle Very cool. Years ago I built a quadrifilar helix antenna for receiving these. I still receive these once in a while. Here is an image from the same satellite from years ago showing the great lakes and the manicouagan crater if you know where to look.

@ViewFromShikhar Barringer Crater in Arizona in 2005 I consider this my luckiest shot. I purposefully booked my flight so the sun would be at a good angle if I happened to be able to see the crater from the plane.
