@georgegalloway
Fair play to 'Moses' Sunak for one thing though - his speech will have added at least 100,000 extra people to the next Palestinian march in London.
@DominicFrisby
Normally I would come riding to the BBC's defence as I still love Auntie (and no other channel could make the quality of Line of Duty) but I am afraid that with their reporting during the pandemic this slogan has more than a ring of truth to it!
@thornaby_fc
A lot of us from the wider footballing community in the North East rallied round and contributed financially (me included) when you had your arson attack last year. Sort of wondering why we bothered if you're now making decisions like this!
@wesstreeting
I note that you strategically avoided showing the part of the ballot paper containing the name of the person who is actually going to win the seat!
@LeanneMohamad
@georgegalloway
This is going to be even more ridiculous in 50 years time when shopkeepers have signs up saying 'Do You Look Under 75? - If so be prepared to show I.D.'
@TiceRichard
It's actually the opposite, Richard, it's a demonstration of free speech in action. From what I know of Moggy he won't have minded and would consider it as part of the 'rough and tumble' of politics. If you want to lead a major UK party you really need to grow a pair!
@AyoCaesar
My Top 5 Picks:
1) New top rate of income tax of 20%
2) Benefit claimants given step counter to prove they have walked at least 15 miles a day looking for work
3) Anyone with first name 'Jeremy' banned from running as MP
4) Israel to be awarded nobel peace prize
5) Ban on Unions
@UKCovid19Stats
I'm sorry but whether you are pro or anti lockdown this is now just a complete and utter shambles. Someone has got to take responsibility for this it's just not good enough on any level
@montie
@RishiSunak
@MrTCHarris
There is a dangerous precedent being set by this govt (started by Boris Johnson) of thinking that it is somehow above the rule of law, questioning decisions taken by the Supreme Court and now the ICC. If governments don't follow the law why should they expect their citizens to?
@AyoCaesar
Good: Made up (mostly) of genuine well meaning people who want to make a difference to their community and their country. Bad: Classic 'petit bourgeois' party, can never provide genuine answers for the working class.
@timfarron
Tim that’s poor from you as someone who has been persecuted for what you believe in. I’m triple vaxed but I accept there are many, particularly in younger age groups than me, who consider the risk of having it outweighs the advantages. It is a valid position to take.
@PolitlcsUK
@AFrazzledScot
You can't have it both ways! You criticise him for his focus on foreign policy issues at the expense of his constituents and then, when he attends to stuff in his constituency, you criticise him for not focussing on foreign policy. He can't do both at once!
@faizashaheen
I'm not being funny but why aren't you out canvassing? You're in a situation where Labour has given you a kick-in, but instead of running against them to fight back you are rolling over and saying hit me again. Legal action will achieve nothing. Hit them where it hurts!
@AngelaRayner
Like anything Labour announce, the substance doesn't match the headline (same with the rail 'nationalisation' announcement). This is really just adding 10k new homes to some existing towns, something that already happens regularly without any fanfare.
@GatesheadFC
@gateshead
have you got a comment to make about this? If the statement is true, I hope local voters will take appropriate action in the election next month (not that anyone should be supporting the genocide backing Labour Party in the first place!).
@afneil
I don't believe the Saudi government should be able to own the Telegraph or the Speccy. But I also don't think they should be able to own Newcastle United. The two positions are not mutually exclusive!
@OwenJones84
This is the problem with the GPEW and their petit bourgeoise approach. The climate crisis is created by capitalism but instead of targetting capital they instead go for the poorest in society who played zero part in creating the crisis in the first place, placing burden on them.
@deebasyed
Funnily enough it shows exactly the opposite. This is a man who has given his life to the party, including leading it and taking it to its 2nd best ever post war election result in 2017. His reward for that from his party was a total betrayal. I wish him every success.
@KonstantinKisin
As someone who is still very much a fatto I agree. My abject failure to actually use my gym membership and to implement the healthy eating plan that I know works, should not be a cause of celebration for anyone who doesn't want to see me dead!
@AyoCaesar
I think the No.1 reason why the govt should pay is because it badly needs them. The current birth rate is a major cause for concern in the UK and will lead to a catastrophe further down the line if this generation doesn't start having more kids!
@jalalayn
@themuslimvoteuk
@andrewfeinstein
@WaisIslamUK
Is he a Labour plant? I was at a Muslim Vote meeting in West Yorkshire last night and it's clear there's quite a lot of this going on. You can be sure they would use the tactic to protect their own leader in a crucial seat, no?
@gateshead
I'm sorry, but a 10 year agreement with a break clause that allows the new partner to totally re-negotiate it is clearly not 10 years security of tenure, is it? How did you expect the EFL to accept such an agreement? It should be 10 yrs with the incoming partner legally bound to

ready to hit the campaign trail in Leeds North East and Leeds West & Pudsey respectively. See you all out there!
@WorkersPartyGB
@montie
Tim for the sake of British politics the Tories need a crushing defeat. Anything less and they will just attempt to rearrange the deckchairs. I'm not a Tory but I do know that we don't need a 'Uniparty' which means Conservatives have to be different from Labour.
@NewhamIndParty
Well it seems there is at least one Labour MP with a backbone. As for Sunak's reply, it simply shows him up as the total shyster that he is.
It's a return to the stump! I'm delighted to announce that I have today been selected as the Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Leeds North East for the
@WorkersPartyGB
@HitpoSimon
It's a shame you're a parody, as I'd love it to be true! But it's really not helpful to post this stuff during a serious election campaign.
@EdinburghCityFC
I think this is a bit harsh. Especially when you think what we were like at that age back in the 1970's. But then this is the 'woke' 2020's I suppose.....
@buryfcofficial
This ruling appears to be excessive in the extreme. You would have to question the competence of the inependent Chair making this decision. Also a sanction of this magnitude should need sign off from at least a panel of three. Very poor.
@RmSalih
Sadly many examples where this is going to happen. People will always put personal ambition ahead of a just cause. I know I'm biased (see profile) but this further highlights the flaws in running a series of disparate independents rather than uniting behind a party structure.
@Campbell_VPC
@JohnnyMercerUK
I think the contempt that some of the 'new left' have for veterans, as demonstrated in this tweet, gives an indicator of how Labour lost the red wall. True old Labour socialists would always respect the sacrifices made by our armed forces.
@JohnSimpsonNews
John the information is freely available daily due to the excellent (not to mention incredibly brave) reporting from Al Jazeera English, which most people in the UK can access. You can't use that as an excuse for lack of pressure.
@georgegalloway
@WorkersPartyGB
I've thought for some time now that the Speaker at Westminster (& Presiding Officer at Holyrood) shouldn't be elected as a member of a political party. It shouldn't be beyond the wit of man to create one additional 'Speaker' seat elected from a non-partisan list by the public.
@lslothuus
I don't personally agree with this approach. The best way to deal with cancel culture is to engage with all sides, even if they are on the 'other' side. During my forthcoming election campaign in Leeds North East I will not be turning down any interview requests from GB News,
@johnmcdonnellMP
@HackneyAbbott
To be honest, John, she's better off without it. At least she doesn't have blood on her hands as those who haven't resigned the whip have, sadly including yourself.
@AaronBastani
A lot of the fuss seems to be because the councillor said 'Allahu Akbar' as part of his acceptance speech, wheras GOP candidates in the US routinely exclaim 'Praise the Lord' when elected. It is almost exactly the same thing, and even to the same God to boot!
@OwenJones84
I've had misgivings about this from Day One. To me the 'confession' letter always sounded like something a person having a breakdown under the weight of the accusations against them would write. There is still a possibility she is guilty of course. But that's what it is, possible
@PaulEmbery
I think that the saddest thing about this is that it dilutes the calling out of parties and positions that are genuinely far-right. It gives them a get-out clause to say that they are just 'victims' of progressives. This is the most dangerous thing of all.
@PaulEmbery
Exactly. It is 100% that every member who joins the Garrick Club knows what the rules on female members are. Can't believe that they are being presented as somehow 'heroic' in taking this stance.
@RmSalih
Because they 'excuse' local candidates who have spoken out on Gaza, not realising that by voting for ANY Labour or Conservative candidate they have effectively got blood on their own hands.
@RichardWLewis
If you seriously think that exposure to Tom Jones classics have played any part in domestic murders that have taken place on your patch, then I would seriously question whether you are the right person to be holding the position of Chief Constable.

I know this is going to be annoying to you, but if you have a generation that think they can change biological facts to suit their narrative, then it figures that they think they can change historical facts to fit their narrative as well!
@RmSalih
I think this is a fair point. Most people would not expect a Catholic school in Ireland to teach a biased version of 'The Troubles' in the six counties and if they did they would rightly be castigated by the parents of non-catholic pupils.
@IainDale
You're obviously not the 'thickest person in the country' but it was clear that with nobody 'singing along' something was amiss. If it was something political then some would have been singing and others not. So the answer was fairly easy to take a guess at.
@AdamPugh
Solidarity Adam and brilliantly articulated. However, it would have been nice if your party had been a bit more vocal when Jeremy Corbyn was the victim of similar completely unfounded attacks. Just saying.
@Effiedeans
This is getting out of hand. I played a mentally ill man in an episode of Casualty but I’m not mentally ill. I also played Calphurnius (Caesar’s husband) in a production where Caesar was a woman. All now banned?
Well, that’s livened things up a bit. Welcome to the fray
