Good new for winter lovers. Euro deterministic run has that polar lobe further west and stronger. Similar to Canadian gem. The Canadian ens is further west and colder too. This is good sign folks, Pacific Northwest could see some #Snow and #Cold . I will post euro ensembles soon.

Most weather models are agreeing on the low pressure centre being south, near Port Angeles. This will pull colder air through Sw BC. Can still change but major snowstorm is possible, with freezing rain possible south of the border. We will know by tonight likely stay tuned #snow

Euro Ensemble further east now with cold. I think the best we will see is a couple days of cold and a bit of snow maybe. It may turn into no cold at all and be a bust. Gem ens is a very touch better than 12z but right now it’s looking unlikely for very cold temps in pnw stay tune

Seattle and areas of the pudget sound will likely see hundreds of lightning strikes in a few hours as a wall of thunderstorms makes its way northward. Cool air off the cascades will mix with with warm humid air, resulting in major thunderstorm outbreak. Downpours half inch hail.

Euro control is a snow lovers dream in late Feb. deep northwest flow, with very cold lows, would mean more snow than rain with those system. With night time precip being all snow in this pattern. This is fantasy land but northwest flow is not unlikely now starting 25th.

The false spring is upon us. Things will begin warming up, with temps possibly reaching low 20s for the weekend. Some model guidance suggests a cool down by mid next week back seasonal or below but for now we are heading into a warm dry period thanks to an omega block. #bcheat

A look at the wacky gfs snowfall projections for the south coast. A very unlikely amount of snow fall with most of it falling Jan 27 to march. 2. Confidence we get this much is same oddity same person gets struck by lightning 10 x in a row. Lots of requests to share this 😂

A polar lobe will pass after a system Sunday. Monday to Tuesday night expect wet snow showers/ice pellets/ hail occasional lightning. Convergence zones. Mid week still unknown with track of low maybe a round of heavy wet slop for SWBC. Stay tuned for more info as we get closer!

Euro is in. Maybe a brief transition to freezing rain/ice pellets early Wednesday morning before switching back to snow as 925mb temps cool. Still more to go over, but significant snowfall is possible across metro Vancouver and Vancouver island.
