In ~2013 all-hands, @elonmusk said that achieving success for SpaceX is when we stop cheering for launches. Then, SPX had just 5 or 6. Everyone would gather at Mission Control to cheer for launches, even the tests. I read this post, and was "meh.” Congrats on achieving success 😂

Big shoutout to @newindustrials for an epic inaugural event! Lots of excitement and now back to work! Let’s remember: this isn’t just “Re”industrialization. Rerun of the past will have same result. Reinventing industries is what lasts, so we won’t need to ‘reindustrialize’ later

Our new factory needs a sign, and guess what? We’re so vertically integrated that we’re going to make it ourselves! Because clearly, we don’t have enough on our plates already.

@JoshuaSteinman Thank goodness for LinkedIn’s endorsed skills section—without it, how else would one discover your expertise in sniffing out foreign sabotage operations? It’s not like you are frequently talking about it on another social media - it is at top of the list of their useless features

I can't believe these photos are span of more than 10 years. The first Crew Dragon in 1st pic, to the early days of Relativity with a team of 7 in a garage in Inglewood, to Roboforming at @MachinaLabs_ . I still feel like I just left school but these photos tell me otherwise 😂

This is the extent of car customization in 2024. Why can’t we go beyond colors? Why not customizing entire body? @elonmusk @woodhaus2

The myth-building in hard tech and defense tech is out of control! Gundo, Tech Bro Ironman, Tinkerer Captain America… it’s like a comic book out here. One of the reasons I left SpaceX few years back. Though, if I were the one being mythologized, I’d probably be soaking it up 🤣

Palmer is known as a hardware wizard, a tech visionary, an S-tier tinkerer, and a patriot. All accurate. But what’s usually not appreciated is that Palmer is a family man, a devoted husband, and a loyal friend. The best thing about this profile is it highlights not just

Imagine a kid buzzing with excitement, only to find out the amazing government isn’t a fan of their backyard foundry. Turns out, ‘residential zone’ doesn’t quite cover molten metal. 🤣

In the defense manufacturing circles, there's frequent talk about catching up. Like in response to adversaries' inexpensive drones, we should also focus on producing affordable drones. Or there's a push to mirror China's robust, centralized manufacturing model. Catching up with

When we first explored large-scale 3D printing at Relativity Space, I was influenced by Lockheed's efforts to build satellite tanks using Sciacky’s EBAM 3D printer. The transition from the traditional, multi-stage, and complex process of starting with Titanium forging to agile 3D

Why is it hard to improve US manufacturing? Think of high-mix manufacturing as a complex web of interdependent operations. Each part can improve with either cheap labor or point automation. Labor is flexible can improve many nodes in the graph but not cheap in the US. 🧵

Is there a welding helmet that uses AR? I just noticed I can look at the sun and do filters with Vision Pro. Wanna now try to weld with it; not that I wanna get splatter on it! But I think there could be pretty cool apps like monitoring the melt pool temp using brightness.
