Friendly Reminder that there is no such thing as “best ____ cosplay”. Whether it’s crafted, bought, or thrifted; a cosplay is a cosplay. You can be 99% accurate or do your own twist on it and it does not matter.

I believe that there does exist over consumption in the cosplay community. There’s nothing against buying cosplays but when you are mass buying 5-10 cosplays a month just for content that you aren’t making revenue off of feels way too much like fast fashion.

Hot take, if you are doing a group cosplay at a con, you owe it to yourself to do what’ll make you happy. Not so much as convent for the group. Your time matters and is important. Dont just fill a slot for the sake of fitting in if it won’t make you happy to be x character.
