Every time I watch an SEC baseball game, I hear the phrase “JUCO transfer” like 77,000 times.
It’s almost like....going to a JUCO out of HS is a good idea or something....
Baseball players are tired after games because they were forced to condition for cross country instead of conditioning for being able to perform multiple explosive movements spaced out over a couple hours.
That’s not my opinion, that’s how the human body works.
Approximately 940 grams of protein. ORGANIC protein.
A week’s worth. Cost me less than $30.
Took 15 minutes to prep and grill it.
But you’re right, you need to save money so you can afford to go showcase that 125lb frame and 72mph gravity ball.
Deadlift 200% BW
Squat 150% BW
Bench 125% BW
Chinup 150% BW

Ya dig?
I did a “lesson” with a 9 yr old pitcher last night that struggles with command. The only instruction I gave:
“Every time you knock this ball off the cone, and your velocity is over 48mph, I do 10 push-ups”
That little peckerhead made me do 70 pushups in 30 minutes.
Hypothetical HS/College pitcher-
Currently:
-Struggles to run a mile under 9 min
-Can’t complete 3 miles without walking
-Gassed after 80 pitches
Commits to get better conditioned over offseason
Fast forward to Spring
-7 min mile
-3 miles in 23 minutes
-Gassed after 80 pitches
Don’t make fun of people that believe in Santa Claus.
You’re 19 years old and still believe it’s possible to “Get your Velo up” over a 3 week Christmas break.
There was a guy at our showcase today that literally lost his house to tornados last night in East Arkansas.
He had the highest mound Velo of the day by a pretty large amount.
I just, have no words.
Ive never witnessed “grown man” stuff like that.
Unreal.
Don’t make fun of people that believe in Santa Claus.
You’re 19 years old and still believe it’s possible to “Get your Velo up” over a 3 week Christmas break.
Can’t do the minimum all fall then get dedicated a month before practice ramps up.
I just left the bed side of one of our athletes that was in a very serious accident today. He was being wheeled back for surgery. We serve a very mighty God. I ask you lift this young man up in prayer. God knows every need.
Run foul poles to flush lactic acid from your arm.
Technically,literally doing nothing is better than poles
OR
-20 Upward Tosses w/ a 2lb ball while leaving the field
-Meal with good carbs and protein.
-Sleep 8 hours in a dark cold room
-Lift weights afterwards or next day
New Arkansas coach Chad Morris hits recruiting trail right away: Arkansas football coach Chad Morris made it clear on his first day on the job that he plans to get in front of as many prospects as he can before the first-ever high school early signing…
Those JUCO coaches contacting you now will come in handy when you get to that 4 year school and realize you are competing for playing time against guys that can buy beer without a fake.
So ya know, don’t burn bridges.
I won’t name names.
But less than 24 hours ago a guy with FB Velo that touches 99 got⬆️of $1 million.
Another guy that threw twice the innings,w/almost half the ERA against the same competition was offered ⬇️100k
I’m not saying it’s right, but this sign is false.

Loving how our Plyocare wall is turning out to be a mobile arm care station.

If weighted balls are so dangerous why don’t more quarterbacks tear UCL’s?
Who decided a 5 oz ball was the correct weight and safe to throw?
If a kid is throwing rocks, should we weigh each one to ensure it’s 5oz and safe to throw?
Just things I sometimes ponder….
Congratulations
@Cooper_White_7
The most cold blooded dude I know is headed to Conway!
Folks are going to start seeing more and more why I beg our graduating seniors to go to a junior college with a good development strategy.

Making pitchers run foul poles to “flush” their arms is like mowing the yard to help your daughter not be scared of the monsters under her bed.
A) Your solution is stupid
B) Your problem doesn’t exist
I told some HS guys tonight main diff I see between them and the high achieving college guys is this:
College guys bully each other to do the right thing. They compete at who got the most sleep, most calories,etc
HS guys just bully each other. That subtle difference is massive
I heard
@drivelinebases
say one time (something along the lines of) ‘The winners find a way. The losers won’t, and will weed themselves out.’
On my life, I did not stage this. I walked out of the dugout and this is what I find
@loganfunderburg
doing after his final pitch.
We’ve got 13 year olds going to offseason football in the morning, basketball game/practice in the afternoon, “Mandatory” hitting practice in the evening IN NOVEMBER….
but the kids that play one sport are the ones risking an overuse injury.
Come on man
You’re gonna play college baseball but you are too tired from HS practices to make it to here to lift one or two days per week and keep your grades up...

One of the most profound ways of stating how things work at that level that I’ve ever heard.
A few years ago I began using what we now refer to as
“The Game-day lift”.
I have gotten rave reviews from our athletes.
So here you are. Maybe it will help someone.
Can be used within 24 hours of game time.
It is most effective the closer it is to game time.
9 out 10 times I show a new guy how to warm up with plyocare balls and long Toss BEFORE his pen or pulldowns he looks at me like I’m asking him to throw 300 pitches. Then is amazed at how good his arm feels after doing it.
It is absolutely surreal to watch a kid you’ve seen grow up in your gym start a game in Omaha.
This is one of “those” moments you envision when you start doing this stuff.
Telling kids to play multiple sports because NFL draft picks played multiple sports is like telling them to eat dog food so they can have the same spots as their dog.
The outcome you are seeking was not created by the method you plan on using to obtain it.
Do yourself a favor. Take a look at this video of long time EAP Athlete
@StonePaul44
lookin like he’s auditioning for Bobby Bouche from the Waterboy.
Coming off an injury last year. Looks like he’s got some pentup aggression in there
Here ya go
@SportsCenter
you’re welcome
How many guys will go home butthurt tonight because their coach “doesn’t like” them?
99 out of 100 of y’all just aren’t better than the person in front of you.
You spent too much time in the offseason doing your own thing.
It’s your fault.
One of the things no one thinks much about when you get into coaching is that you are eventually going to get a text. A bad text.
One of those kids you love being around is going to be gone in an instant.
Today is that day for me.
You can’t prepare for it.
Average Stress level for a 2lb (Green Driveline Ball) “Roll-In” throw in a testing environment(throwing the crap out of it): 38
Average Stress level for throwing a regulation baseball from a mound: 51
I promise you,I would be driving a dump truck for a living right now if it weren’t for
@drivelinebases
and his free blog however long ago that I found it. Only fitting,now that EAP is ready for another step,his presentation tonight helped clarify the path.

Looking for that “thing” to help make you a unit?
Here it is.
If you are a HS athlete I can say with confidence there is a very high likelihood you barely consume 50% of the protein you are supposed to eat daily.
I love it when a 120 pound kid that’s taller than me says they “eat a lot”.
Kid,I once ate 3.5 lbs of steak in one sitting and can dust an Xlarge Canadian Bacon and Pineapple pizza in around 10min.
Eating a bag of Cheesits every two hours is not eating “a lot” in your situation
Professional athletes walk in this gym every day, do exactly what I ask them to do, how I ask them to do it. And often double check to make sure they have it right.
But I practically have to beg some HS kids to follow the plan.
That will never, not amaze me.
I had a great time Thursday night at Baum Walker watching Arkansas beat LSU. Ate a 🔥 BBQ sandwich, made several good MLB connections BUT I also got a random high five from
@CanaanSandy
and tbh that has been the highlight of the night for me.
As a father, the thought of what was undoubtedly going through Kobe’s head when he realized what was about to happen is a torture I don’t have words to describe. But bottom line is this. You never know when it might happen so please, KNOW Christ as your Savior. I beg you.

that will need a 4yr home next fall
Putting pitchers on the mound in October, when they haven’t consistently touched a ball since August will cause as many arm problems as the most wreckless weighted-ball “Velo program” anyone could ever create.
Time to start blasting this annual tweet campaign:
1) SORENESS IS NOT THE GOAL FOR YOUR WORKOUT.
2) JOGGING TO “FLUSH” YOUR ARM IS LITERALLY A LARGER WASTE OF TIME THAN BRUSHING YOUR TEETH AND EATING OREOS SIMULTANEOUSLY
3) THIS IS NOT THE TIME FOR HIGH REPETITIONS
Announcer for Arkansas v Alabama game just said Hagen Smith will have a “nice long flush run tomorrow.”
Sir, the University of Arkansas is one of the best in the business at developing baseball players.
They don’t use flush runs.
Tyler Matzek had the yips,was out of baseball a year, and then worked his way up through Indy ball, now on in the 8th for Atlanta, bout to get a World Series ring……
But you are too tired to lift, do arm care today, and find decent food to eat.
Let me know how that works out.
🚨Prom season reminder🚨
Any of our athletes even rumored to be drinking and driving will never step foot in our gym again.
There won’t be discussion or hearings.
It is not a democracy.
I am the judge, jury, and executioner in this case.
If you dream of owning your own facility/training business.
Understand this,if you catch yourself concerned w/what your local competition is doing, you arent as good at what you do as you think you are
Be so good your customers cant afford NOT to train w/ you and it wont matter
One of our athletes that is a Freshman at a very successful SEC baseball program told me today the transition from my gym to there has been “almost seamless”
He has no idea how much he made my day.
I needed to hear that.
Success leaves clues.
I put this out every year on NYE, prom, and graduation.
EAP Athletes that drink and drive will never step foot in my gym again.
I WILL find out.
I’d rather you think I’m a meddlesome prick than have to walk up and close a casket on you.
A QB that wasn’t considered good enough to play, portals out and then comes back the next year as the QB for his new school, beats the brakes off his home state school and drives the final nail in the coffin of the head coach that couldn’t use him.
The irony overwhelms me.
Tonight I went to the funeral visitation of a 15yr old girl that could light up 8,000sf w/her giggle.
I hugged her mom for a long time while she told me how much her daughter loved EAP
You guys arguing your one sided view of politics disgust me even more than normal right now
Forgot to share this
430lbs x 43 reps for my 43rd bday.
We don’t age because the clock never stops. We age because of the accumulation of time spent doing nothing.
Been in my bag a little lately with our med ball work. I really dig this Med Ball Reverse Throw. Honestly for the same reasons I love the Plyocare Reverse Throw
About 6 yrs ago I came up with the idea of water in 3” PVC pipe for Decel/Accel trunk work. I called them “Slosh Sticks”
To this day,this has been the only”secret”I have kept bc a PT friend advised me to patent it(at that time)
In the private facility business, at first glance, it seems the one with the most athletes through the door is the one that will last. But truth be told, it is the one that owes the least amount to the bank each month that has the best shot at survival.
The body just does not work that way.
If it could talk, this spring it would say “I wish you hadn’t changed your mind from marathoning to baseball. We aren’t prepared for these explosive movements.”
Former Hog Evan Lee (
@Evan_Leeeee
), who is ranked as the Nationals’ third-best LHP prospect, will make his major league debut tomorrow against the Mets, per sources close to the situation.
I try very hard not to make things about me or EAP, but I’d be lying if I said I haven’t been looking forward to sharing this kind of accomplishment by one of our athletes for a long time.
Congratulations
@Evan_Leeeee
You earned it.

I’m sorry but some of the titans of the baseball S&C industry that always harp about HS kids needing to play multiple sports just don’t live in the real world. There. I said it.
Strength coaches @‘ing me because I personally use CrossFit for my own training is a microcosm of where we’ve gone so wrong in society.
1.Does it involve you? Exactly,please find your lane
2.If you are under 30, I was coaching the weight room before you knew what sex was junior.
You know how you can jump higher when you drop off a box rather than just jumping without dropping off a box?
That’s called stretch shortening cycle. It’s one of God’s greatest gifts to athletic performance. The so-called false step is utilizing that. Don’t coach it out of them.
