BREAKING NEWS - these 2 beauties are the chicks of Merin.After spending a gap year in Denmark he has now settled and bred in a natural site in Cumbria. This means Dyfi birds have now bred in Scotland, Wales and England. Huge thanks to ringer Peter Davies for this info and photo.

We have just closed DOP for the 166th and last time in 2018. Monty started his migration at 10:16 this morning, 16 minutes after we opened. Did he wait till the 7th of September to say his goodbyes on our last day? Good luck lad, see you in the spring.

Our beautiful osprey family have departed. We last saw Padarn on Monday evening and Idris a whole 24 hours later. He looked for her all day on Tuesday and, safe in his mind the last of his 2022 offspring had gone, he also started his long journey south.

TEGID!!!! Look who just popped in to say hello! This is the first time we have definitely seen one of our own chicks return to the nest. After an attempt to land on the nest he briefly touched down on the birch perch before finding his way to the low perch. Welcome home boy!

BREAKING NEWS: Pedran has been sighted in the UK He was spotted on 26th August - that's 15 days after we last saw him on the Dyfi - on Featherstone Bridge in Northumberland. This is around 175 miles north-east of the Dyfi.

BREAKING NEWS We have been working tirelessly in developing our Dyfi Wildlife Centre project. This afternoon the National Lottery Heritage Fund informed us that they have approved application. The DWC project will start immediately with the foundation works beginning on 31st Aug.
