Very happy for all of my friends in Ottawa this morning. Once the City is open gonna take a few days of holiday to support the merchants, restauranteurs etc., who have been so hurt.
Just got my 5th COVID jab (2nd booster). So far I haven’t felt like Bill Gates is monitoring me or the urge to go to a meeting of the World Economic Forum. I do feel gratitude for the scientists, health care pro’s and, yes, govn’ts who have gotten us through the last 2.5 years..
What about the blockade at the Ambassador Bridge Chris? Do you support it? Have you said anything to your constituents? Have you done anything to resolve it?
Justin Trudeau has created a very divisive country. I have always & will continue to stand for the rights & freedoms of all Canadians.
I am proud to be in Ottawa this weekend supporting this peaceful and important protest on Parliament Hill.

Home | Bonnie For Leader I am proud and happy to be part of the Exploratory Committee of my longtime friend Bonnie Crombie. A true progressive she also gets money and the economy. That has been missing in Liberal politics for far too long.
I feel very fortunate to be a Canadian. A place where science and reason should always triumph over hysteria and mob rule; a place where political and economic freedom are the strongest in the world; and, a place where we strive to make the best health care available to all. 🙏
One of life’s simple pleasures. Toasted tomato sandwich with fresh field tomatoes from Leamington. Makes me think of my late father as well as my late Leamington bestie Bruce Crozier.
Today’s chuckle. Clerk hands me a form to fill out. She says “I know you, you are the City Councillor”! I respond “I used to be a City Councillor 26 years ago”. “Oh!” she exclaims “What have you been doing since”? “This and that” I respond.

Delighted to announce that I am now serving as an Executive-in-Residence at the Odette School of Business at the University of Windsor. Special thanks to my colleagues at McMillan Vantage and McMillan LLP to allow me to take this on while continuing to work with them.
This is the type of warning that ought to be taken very seriously by Ontario. Sadly its not. Economists at Toronto-Dominion Bank are warning provinces that refuse to implement vaccine passports will be hit hardest by a fourth-wave of Covid-19 via

By my 5th budget I gave up on the shoe Schtick. Instead we did a media avail on my regular walk with Max. It was his first scrum. Richard Brennan said he didn’t realize that junk yard dogs come in a toy breed. Max warmed up to Randy Rath. Rob Ferguson named him, aptly, Mad Max.
Thanks to everyone (and their families) whose name is on the ballot today. Running for office is rewarding, challenging and vital for a healthy democracy. Too many of us take it for granted and scoff at its importance. Now it’s our turn. Go out and vote!

Ten years ago tonight I was nominated for the fifth and final time to be the Ontario Liberal Party candidate in Windsor Tecumseh. We won the 2011 election though we lost our majority by one seat. Time flies!
I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of my good friend and former colleague Richard Patten. As an MPP, and leader in the NFP sector, Richard always gave of himself to his community, province, and country. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. RIP my friend.
To everyone who is running in tomorrow’s municipal and school board elections in Ontario - thanks! Whether a long term incumbent, or first time candidate, running in an election is exciting, challenging and hard work! Public service is a true vocation. Best wishes to all of you!
I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of my friend and former colleague David Caplan. I had the opportunity to work closely with him over many years. My condolences to his entire family.

Booster day! Thinking about the enormity of it. In 18 months the world has come together developed and delivered the vaccine. 🙏 to everyone who has gotten us here. Thinking about those suffering during the pandemic and those who can’t get it.

The antivaccers have now blocked two lanes (of three) on the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor. One truck every 7 seconds crosses here. The busiest dry port in Canada. Shutting this vital trade artery down will be felt immediately between Windsor and Quebec City.
It is truly incredible to see this project coming to life. The efforts of literally thousands of people over many years continue unabated as we move to the eventual opening of the Gordie Howe Bridge.

Waiting to take off on my flight back to Canada. Woman in seat with baby in front of me. Baby crying. Mom plays We Will Rock You by Queen. Baby falls right to sleep. I chuckle. Mom says her dad started this when she was 3 months. I say I will never think of that song the same way
Put this beauty back out for the first time since winter set in. Sadly, I hoped that no one would think it shows support for the selfish, self centred, idiots who organized, planned and participated in the convoy insurrection earlier this year. Taking back my flag!
When I did this interview with the CBC I was proud to assert that Ms Freeland is probably one of the best prepared new Finance Ministers in memory. Best wishes as you begin your challenging role. Canada is fortunate to have your public service.
The vilification of Nancy Pelosi over many years by the American right is the cause of this. Similar to the assaults on Prime Minister Trudeau last year it’s gone too far. Politicians promoting hatred need to be held to account.

The Biden Inauguration was, in my view, simply the best choreographed political event I have ever witnessed. There were too many highlights to do justice here. Suffice to say it unified, inspired, all the while projecting humility. It’s going to be alright.
