Over the past few months we (GAA)have acted responsibly and adhered to all guidelines and protocols despite reservations at times. We have supported our communities in every way possible and respected Gov decisions. I buried my Dad with a handful present. I am disgusted tonight.

Before I tweet this I want no relies saying it’s because I work for RTE! I’m saying it from the start. That game should be free to air. Totally wrong that so many of our volunteers, older members & young players didn’t get to see that because of a pay wall. It’s just not right.

5 or 10km? What is the difference? Who cares? Underage sport has to happen, what harm contact? It doesn’t seem to be hampering international rugby players? Imagine golfing with a family member in a 100 acre field!! Who is running this country?? Who is challenging this rubbish??

Walked off the field tonight after a brilliant u20 hurling match to hear that Pat Smullen had died. 11 years ago today my late wife Edel also passed away at just 41. Both beautiful, decent & kind people. So sorry Frances, Hannah, Paddy & Sarah. Rest in Peace Pat.

My simple opinion. Please try to keep Sport going. The simple answer is to stop everything. Wait till the long dark days and nights kick in. If we are in lockdown imagine the difference live matches will make to our mood. Not easy for any of us but we have to keep positive. 👍

Why can’t we have at least 30% crowd capacity at matches this weekend? This time last year we had no idea if outdoor activity was safe, we now have scientific evidence that it is. I’m delighted to see retail, hospitality etc open open but surely we should have started outside!

People all over the Country giving out about GAA admission prices today. My biggest gripe is with the student prices. €10/€15 for a 17/18 yr old leaving cert is very wrong. Not plain sailing for 3rd level either but for young lads still at school it’s not right.

The president of the All Ireland Hurlers golf society, the great Johnny Flaherty, had the unbelievable distinction of hitting a hole in one on the 339 yard par 4 2nd @EskerHills today in his own prize. Myself and @DooleyJoe were there to witness.

Home from Thurles after an absolute classic. What a game we had today, the great champions @KilkennyCLG went down with honour & pride intact but it was the day the young guns from @LimerickCLG came of age. Tom Morrissey won the game with his catch & point after Richie’s goal. #73

What a brilliant game between Limerick & Cork. Yes I watched it on Sky and still managed to enjoy it no end!! This championship is only warming up but Galway look very hot at the moment.

Went to Ballinamore today for a division 3B hurling league game between Leitrim and Fermanagh. Plan was to learn a bit more about hurling in both counties, but it turned out @FermanaghGAA manager Joe Baldwin has a pretty incredible story. @offtheball

@dickclerkin8 Nothing to do with my point Dick but a smart arse comment that garners you a small bit of publicity. A bit more to real punditry than that!
