Yes Moff Gideon has a darksaber but THE ARMORER TOOK DOWN A WHOLE SQUAD OF TROOPERS WITH JUST A HAMMER AND TONGS. I stan a blacksmith queen.

I would argue that Disney Star Wars is in fact the least political Star Wars has been. They're more about meta takes on the franchise itself rather than having anything to say of political substance.
Wait..the Bat symbol is based off of the original 1939 Batman...they didn't show the ears...WHAT IF THEY'RE DIAGONAL?!??! I'D LICK MATT REEVES' ASSHOLE
(art by Mahmud Asrar)
CAN WE TALK ABOUT ZSASZ??!? Ewan McGregor was fantastic and all as Black Mask, but that was Alan Grant's Victor Zsasz. To a motherfucking T. It's hard to steal the spotlight from Ewan but damn.
Events that a Second Age show could cover:
-Forging of Rings of Power
-Sauron's betrayal with the One Ring
-The War of Sauron and Elves
-the origin of the Ringwraiths
-the corruption/sinking of Númenor
-The Founding of Gondor/Arnor
-The War of the Last Alliance
-Sauron overthrown
Thinking about how after Frodo and Sam left Middle Earth, Merry and Pippin went and lived with Eómer until he died of old age and when Merry and Pippin died they were buried alongside Aragorn's grave as knights of Rohan and Gondor. It's sad boy hours:(
Joker, Watchmen, and V for Vendetta are some of the greatest comc book movies of all time. Also all were adaptations or inspired by Alan Moore’s work. Legend.
Denis Villeneuve wants to adapt 'Dune Messiah' after '

'Dune is a huge story. In order to honor it, I think you would need at least three movies'

It's frustrating but hilarious that WB's solution for a Batman that kills but then is redeemed is to wipe his existence out of the multiverse and swap him for a Batman who unrepentedly kills with a smile.
New Gods is quite non-subtlety an anti-fascist work written by a guy who literally fought Nazi fascists and you’re worried the film adaptation will have “social justice warrior” content in it? Do you hear yourselves when you speak words out loud??
I LOVE how Laurie became so disillusioned with the idea of 'heroes' after the events of Watchmen and grew up to be a vigilante-hunter for the FBI who lectures about how dangerous nostalgia and loving the past is.

Whatever else its flaws are, Aquaman's third act is something special. It just doesn't let up with the perfect blend of action, world building, emotion, and character development. Maybe my all time favorite third act in a cbm.
The best sources of Tolkien's writings of the Second Age include 'the Akallabêth' and 'Of the Rings of Power' (both found in the back of the Silmarillion), 'Unfinished Tales', and the Lord of the Rings Appendices
ok guys. It's been over 3 years. Let's be honest, the best scene added in the Ultimate Edition of Batman v Superman is Jeremy Irons' Alfred J. Pennyworth chopping wood outside his trailer in that scarf and vest. It's time to admit it.
This is one of my favorite scenes in all of Star Wars, made more special by the fact that Leia wasn't even his sister (and therefore a Skywalker) when this was written and filmed meaning it's the first time we see a non-'Force user' actually connected to the Force.
"I've been particularly brutal to Superman, but that's not because I don't like the character; it's because the point-of-view has always been Batman's. If I did a story where Superman was the lead character, Batman would be the antagonist...I adore Superman" -Frank Miller
When Zack said JL was naturally gonna be lighter, he meant Batman will have renewed purpose, Superman will be more confident, and characters like Flash will offer comedic relief. Not turning everyone into a smiling comedian and Flash motorboating Wonder Woman's tits
I would love it if Pattinson's Batman originally doesnt have gauntlets, so when he's at a crime scene analyzing evidence, he wears some purple forensics gloves as an homage to his original look. Would make it make sense within a world where he's a beginner and detective focused
I still can't understand how folks don't see Cavill's Superman as "heroic". He saved the oil rig workers, a bus full of kids, stopped sexual assault, saved Lois, his hometown, Metropolis, and the world. Then died saving a world that crucified him. What the fuck are you watching?
Fun fact-Batman v Superman made more money for comic legend Jim Starlin for creating KGBeast, than any of the royalties he got from Marvel for creating Thanos, Gamora, and Drax combined

it's unhelpful to pretend America is NOT founded on racism/genocide. The only way we redeem the American project is acknowledgment of the fact.
And for those who don't know, the island-Kingdom of Númenor was basically the Atlantis of Middle-Earth. Sauron manipulates the aging King into rebelling against the Gods and claiming immortality. That (naturally) pisses them off and the island is sunk to the bottom of the ocean
Christopher Nolan straight up made 3 Batman movies about the economy and economic anxieties. And Snyder retold the Gospel using Superman. These fucking legends man
Zack Snyder deadass made a 3 hour long movie about how everyone grossly misrepresented what Man of Steel was about, and he used a whiny millennial and angry white man to represent that- I love that man
Clark Kent was a reporter standing up for the poor/minorities, Lois Lane’s reporting takes down Lex Luthor, Superman’s heroics take down Doomsday, and Clark’s overall humanity saves everyone literally and from their own cynicism. And so called Superman fans dislike this film??
@FrostPT13
(they don't read comics, they just find one panel that looks vaguely like their fave so they can use it to score "comic-accuracy" points for some stupid reason)
Just rewatched BvS:UE for the first time in a while. Still the 🐐 comic book film. That movie is balls to the wall whack and ambitious as all hell. The sheer balls of Zack Snyder....respect.
If you're boycotting Aquaman to defend Zack Snyder's honor, you're insane. If you're boycotting it because you haven't gotten the Snyder Cut yet, you're a baby. If you don't wanna see it because it doesn't seem like your thing, that's fine and no one is criticizing you for that.
Prior to serving the Duke, Gurney Halleck used to fight in the Harkonnen slave/gladiator pits and his sister was murdered by "Beast" Rabban. Really hope these two get to face off in Dune: Part 2
I love Batman v Superman because it takes the original archetype of the powered superhero (Superman) and pits him against the original archetype of the non-powered superhero (Batman) while using that to maintain a societal narrative that’s essentially The Powerless v The Powerful
@SRajnosek
yeah I think one reason Nicholson, Ledger, Phoenix, and (probably) Keoghan are celebrated is because they make being the Joker seem effortless. But every scene of Leto's- even when he's doing very Jokery things- just feels like he's trying so hard to let us know he's the Joker.
"Haudh-en-Ndengin the Elves names it, the Hill of the Slain, and Haudh-en-Nirnaeth, the Hill of Tears. But grass came there and grew again long and green upon that hill, alone in all the desert that Morgoth made"
-The Silmarillion
Hot take-by showing us Batman at his most “un-Batmanish”, Snyder revealed his core elements. A character defined by powerlessness and fueled by a *need* to control his own destiny. By showing what it would take to “break” Bats, we’re shown what “makes” him in the first place
This is easily my favorite shot of the trailer because it tells us we're in for a Batman movie like we've never seen before in live action. First, it's Batman's POV. We've just never seen a shot that takes us THIS much in into Batman's head. Inner monologue isn't far fetched.
The Rings of Power should really utilize its end credits to feature a lot of Tolkien songs. I get why, but it always felt weird there was so much singing and poems cut out of the movies.
Imagine after the Battle on Mount Doom, screen goes black and the Fall of Gil-Galad starts.
the owner at the comic book store today-"It really sucks that Venom made so much money because now they'll just make sequels to it and the rights won't go to the MCU"
me, as I was browsing the selections, pretending not to be eavesdropping-
So Matt Reeves has expressed his love of the early Golden Age comics and Year One- both comics where he pulls this trick of climbing straight up a building wall. I think that's what the batsymbol is- a detachable gadget for scaling sheer surfaces like a bat with its claw
I remember being seated for Dark Knight Rises and seeing a trailer for MoS for the first time and my friend and I looked at each other and were like "dude! Justice League!". And now here we are. Regardless of how good or bad it is, it's wild that it's finally happening.
Making the first appearance of BATMAN in your cinematic universe have him being a villain (albeit sympathetic) is why Zack Snyder has balls the size of glaciers. This Batman fanboy thanks you.
White liberals: the only reason we have mass shootings every other day in America is because of our gun laws
Also White liberals: The Joker movie gonna make the incels go on murdering sprees!!! It's our social obligation to CANCEL
Depp and Heard are both trainwrecks man. Why y'all feel the need to pick a side and die on that hill defending them is beyond me. Celebrity worship is fucking weird.
"Does anyone honestly want to see Darkseid kill Lois and Superman turn evil? And Aquaman and Wonder Woman getting killed off in an alternate future? Batman sacrificing himself for the universe? Anyone?"
*looks around*
*swallows hard*
*raises hand*
I kinda do
Throughout Joker, there's lots of red and blue imagery- colors that obviously combine to form purple, Joker's signature color, which we never see on Arthur EXCEPT for when blue light shines on his red suit right after killing Murray. Arthur steps off stage and becomes the Joker
