Seeing how happy students are following English Paper 1 & 2, really do think there is merit in keeping the amended papers. Gives more choice, makes it less of a race to the end, and you get happier students, who (hopefully) have given richer responses. #LeavingCert2021 #edchatie

If you are a teacher who is fit and able who decides to not return to school to help prep students - then you are seriously in the wrong job. Public opinion will (rightly) have zero sympathy, while looking at frontline workers literally risk their lives to do their job.

Don’t actually care about the increase for Jr. Ministers, like or loathe, it’s just something that happens. Do have a real problem though with a senior Govt Minister defending the decision, by using an argument that literally applies as a lived reality to thousands of teachers.

When teaching him a few years back, there was a palpable sense that students were connecting with his work. We wrote letters to him, he then called to say thank you for taking the time to write. He was genuinely touched. He sent a signed copy of a poem too. A gent. RIP. #edchatie

Instead of publishers releasing a new edition of a textbook every 2-3 years, any updates/new material should be made available as a free pdf, or else bought as a cheap insert. Difficult for parents who want to pass books on and a nightmare for book rental schemes. #edchatie

Grandad in hospital past 8 days. Saw him today for the 1st time. Get the need for restrictions still - Do not get why I had to see him in a noisy, cold lobby wedged between a Londis & a coffee shop, behind a screen. He couldn’t even hear me. Has to be a smarter way to do this.
