What I think students will ask me about: complex radiology, physics, AI topics
What they actually ask about: external pressures, making the "wrong" career choice, setting boundaries, sleep deprivation, etc.

Among U.S. MDs, radiology applicants submitted the most applications this year - 75 apiece.
But that’s pretty flat vs. last year… and the mean applications per applicant to dermatology, urology, otolaryngology, and orthopedics are down significantly.

The cure for exhaustion is removing overwhelming demands and the norm of self-sacrifice.

That incidental colon cancer will radically change someone’s life. Even if it’s not emergent, consider calling the provider before you release the report. 🛑
Patients can now use online portals to view their radiology reports and other test results faster than ever before. In response, radiologists need to adapt the ways in which they communicate with patients, according to

Individuals with persistent favorable sleep patterns over 5 years had a lower CVD risk, even among those with higher genetic risk. These findings highlight the importance of maintaining favorable sleep patterns over time for CVD prevention.
In a meta-analysis, patients with a negative screen (LUNG RADS 1 or 2) were LESS likely to adhere to baseline recommendations. 🫁
