Husband to Mary, Dad to Stephen, Brooke, Jon, Orie, Kristen, Blake, Pop to Baileigh, Ellie, Camden, Carter, Caroline, Caleb. Pastor N. Metro BC Lawrenceville Ga
Ok, I am a dad of a Special Force team leader. My son is on his way home tonight from a 6 month deployment where he carried out highly dangerous operations. I am offended that Pelosi could not stand in honor of the dad just returning. He makes
@it
possible for her to play games.
Praise: my son was able to get his two interpreters who assisted his Special Force team while operating in Afghanistan out today. Thanks to Jon and other Special Force operators who made it happen.
In Destin Fla. to be with Jonathan tomorrow as he receives a Purple Heart from his last deployment. This is an award you never want your son to earn. Proud of his service to his country while others are protesting. They ought to be thankful people like him give them such a right.
Tomorrow I will celebrate pastoring North Metro, one of the great churches in America for 43 years. I love them dearly. I am grateful for their love and how they follow so well. It is my only church out of seminary. Blessed.
For those on the left, it would do well for you to have a son who is engaged in battle in Afghanistan to appreciate the action of the President. At least there are some who are willing to place their lives in harms way to give you the freedom to criticize.
Tomorrow I will celebrate 39 years as Pastor of North Metro Baptist Church in Lawrenceville. Needless to say, I love these people. Great church. Only difference time has flown by and a few gray hair. Can’t wait until the morning. See you at 10.30am for Worship.
Praying for my son Jonathan, team leader (beard right) and his team who lost his Right hand man, Mike Goble (Beard left) last Sunday in combat operation.
Well we are having Christmas with Jonathan who just walked in the door about an hour ago. He just arrived back from Afghanistan and surprised his mom. We all stood up when he walked in unlike others earlier this week.
Praying for John MacArthur and other pastors in California. Religious Liberty at stake. What starts in California usually spreads across country. COVID is serious. Religious Liberty more serious.
Had a great day today. Completed 41 years as Pastor of North Metro which speaks volumes about how great a church I serve. Starting our forty second year together as Pastor and people. I love my people.
Just heard from a Pastors wife who is concerned for her husband. He is broken over his church during the Virus season. Listen, every Pastor is carrying a heavy burden for their churches. Pastors need those who will lift them up in pray. I for one am going to pray for her husband.
Got there in time to spend the last few moments with my mom here on earth. Was there by her side as she stepped into eternity. 90 years she was blessed here on earth and now she is in eternity with her Jesus. Oh yes, and my dad.
Congratulations to Bart Barber for being elected as the next SBC President. He will serve well. He will need all our prayers. Join me in praying for him.
Pastored my church for 43 years. Sacrificed to give to the CP of the SBC for missions around the world. (For years we gave 13% of undesignated money to CP over $11 Million) Entity head spending $60,000 on Christmas decorations, $11,000 on Expresso machine? WOW? No Perspective.
Enjoyed today. Completed 38 years as Pastor of North Metro Baptist Church. Every person who came through the receiving line had a story. I realized what impact 38 year has on a church family. So blessed is this Pastor. It is called doing life together. What a life it has been.
Our son Jon, a Special Force Commander, surprised us last night coming home a few days early from his 6-month deployment to be home for Easter. It is always great when he is back in the USA. Everyone in family knew but me and his mom he and Orie were coming. Big surprise.
At 9:20am the Thanksgiving Parade decided to become activist. Shocked at Macy’s. It has been a family tradition to watch the parade on Thanksgiving. When you have to change channels because of kids in the room. Christians need to stop apologizing for standing for righteousness.
Have you notice There’s a lot of peer pressure in Congress. Can’t they think on their own? Do you always have to look to the right then to the left to see if others will approve of you. Be a person of conviction, not a person who follows the crowd.
Why would I choose NOBTS for Seminary? Simple, Jamie Dew is a breath of fresh air in Theological Education. He is humble, doesn’t strut, has the right emphasis (towel and basin) servant leadership and desires NOBTS to be the seminary for ALL Southern Baptist Students.
I am in Norfolk, Virginia Today. Just received a call from my granddaughter Ellie who told me she just invited Jesus into her heart. That makes my day. No that makes my eternity.
So many of you have been praying for my son since the Bomb went off claiming the life of his Intelligence Sgt. Jonathan was just 10 ft away. He is making progress in his recovery.
Thinking about my mom. Last picture made on her 90th birthday just a few weeks ago. Probably her last good day. I will greatly miss her but will see her again.
Humbled to be in Kansas to be a part of Jonathan receiving the rank of Major. His wife Orie and I were privileged to place his new rank on his dress blues. On his dress blues you will find 2 Bronze Stars, Purple Heart plus many other commendations. He was spoken of highly. Proud!
Please pray for my soon to be 90 yrs old mother. She fell early this morning and broke her arm and her hip. Surgery some time tonight or first thing tomorrow.
Talking about God’s protective hand. This happened to me on a quick trip to Florida to see my son off. Had 4 grandkids on board on I-65 south in Alabama. God is good even at 65 mph.
Added to having Jonathan home, 20 minutes later Kristen and her family walks in the door from N.C. then 20 minutes later Stephen and his family walk in. I am thankful my kids are close. There is nothing they wouldn’t do for each other. Great surprise for Mary, birthday tomorrow
Praying for my friend Fred Evers tonight. Been dealing with cancer for 15 months. He is a great friend and I want to ask you to join me in praying for his health.
After a week of watching Twitter, I am concerned about the lack of love, statesmanship and respect for each other. Whatever happened to you can disagree without being disagreeable? Does all the above go away just because you have a Twitter account? Just a thought for all of us.
In my opinion, I believe Lenny Gregory ought to be selected as Coach of the Year in Georgia High School Football. He is a tremendous Coach. Plus he went 15-0. Plus all three teams at Collins Hill went undefeated. Plus we are State Champs. He is building a culture of winning.
I have a full day today. I need prayers for wisdom. God is doing something in me. I am desiring His Will more than ever. There is a principle at work: turn loose to take hold. I am trusting God.
So proud of Mary. Today at the Georgia Baptist Convention Ministers’Wives Luncheon, she was presented with the Trudy Price Pastor’s Wife Award. It is in recognition of Godly Character and Faithful Service as a Pastor’s wife. I am blessed along with North Metro.
Do you want to know the joy of being a pastor of the same church for 38 years? Tonight a young adult couple asked me to go with them to pick out their engagement ring. Then I went to the hospital to visit one of our 80 yr old members to pray with him. No greater joy.
Join me in praying for my friend Fred Evers. He has been fighting cancer for over a year. He needs for every prayer warrior to pray for him and his precious wife Cindy.
Glad to have David Pollack with us tonight at North Metro. 800 Gwinnett County High School Football players in attendance. Many prayed to receive Christ. Great night. Thanks North Metro Volunteers.
It is early in the day. Today we present and introduce Dr. Jamie Dew as the next President at NOBTS. How did we come to Jamie? Simple-Prayer! The search team simply asked the Lord to lead us to the right man. Prayer was the key. 🙏
Again, I am very CONCERNED about our nation and the way it is trending. It has nothing to do with who sits in the White House. It has everything to do with how we are opening our lives up to ideologies that will lead to our demise and to the point of no return. Praying 4 revival.
I am still praying for Southern Baptist as we prepare to gather next week in California. Are you praying with me? We need for God to show up in a major way. Not our agendas but only His.
Pray for my mom. She had a bad fall today. Brought to the hospital by ambulance with a broken nose, pretty bruised up. Running all kind of test. She is 89.
Proud of Logan Arnold. Played Center at Collins Hill. He is headed to Leavell College at NOBTS in the fall. He will do well. Called to Pastor. I am proud to be his Pastor and also his team Chaplain.
It is 3am and I am praying for my church and all churches in America. It is time for the church to re-gather. Do it wisely but we need to be together. Educators are concerned what this is doing educationally to our kids and I am concerned what it is doing to them spiritually.
My son Special Force team leader heard from his interpreter who aided his team while in Afghanistan. Taliban going house to house hunting them down. If discovered they will kill him and his family. Botched withdrawal by US.
I was blessed this morning nearing my 40th anniversary at North Metro being presented with this framed Jersey from Collins Hill High School Administration. Kerenza , Scarlett and Coach Lenny Gregory on hand to make the presentation. Great video from former Coaches. Luv them all.
The Invitation was over this morning. At Guest reception a teen age young man came up to me and said he wanted to be saved. Had the opportunity to pray with him as he received Jesus. Great morning.
Already attended one funeral, conducted another and on my way in the morning to conduct another funeral. Prepared 2 sermons, 4 hospital visits. Met with 3 people who were working through problems. Met and prayed with 2 discouraged Pastor’s. Pastor’s only work 1 day per week. Lol
Enjoyed an evening at the Sundial Resturant with Mary. We are celebrating 32 years of marriage. She is the joy and love of my life. Blessed to be her husband.
We were awakened this morning to the news Mary’s dad died during the early morning hours. He was 88yrs old and was suffering from dementia. We thought we had weeks but God chose otherwise. Prayers appreciated.
Just watched WWE Legends. It featured a friend - Lex Luger. What a strong witness for Jesus. His life has been radically changed by our Lord. In this documentary he made sure people knew it was about Jesus not about him. Man, God has blessed him. Proud of Lex.
Ok, I am on vacation on the island. There‘a been a drought and it rained just before we arrived. Mosquitoes are bad. So we called and asked if anything could be done. They bring us 2 racquets that fries them when you swat them. New sport for the next 2 weeks. I’m winning 5 to 1
Praying tonight for the family of Sgt. Mike Goble. Last week they learned the brevity of life. He paid the ultimate price for our freedom that so many take for granted. He was a hero. So many claim to be, but never put their life on the line. He did and he is ... a hero!
The greatest need in the SBC is a move of God. We need Godly Leaders who lead us to revival. We need people in our churches who thirst for God. (Ps.42:1-2) We need to be broken and empty of self so God can fill us.
Celebrating my Birthday tonight in Jerusalem with Mary and those traveling with us. In the picture you see my friend Tony Safieh who I have been traveling to Israel for 30 years. He is here to bury his father tomorrow. Pray for Tony and his sister as they honor their dad.
Been up since 4:30am. Praying through Staff decisions. Making sure I am hearing God. The only voice in these kind of decisions is His. Bright future, am I willing to be radical?
As a parent what do you do when you pulled your kids out of church for every event and when they are older they do not desire a relationship with God? Do not take away from them what you can’t give back to them. Eternity is forever. Just a thought.
Hey Clint
Why don’t you pray about allowing your name to be nominated for President of the SBC after Bart. Best argument for being a Southern Baptist I have heard in a long time. Just saying! Maybe we need someone who is not mad about being a Southern Baptist. Thank you.
Some little men fill some big positions. Over the years, I have come to the believe there are many Pastors serving in obscure places who will have huge rewards awaiting them when they arrive in glory. I have preached for many of them. They are my heroes. Press on.
Georgia Baptist, it is my intention to nominate Dr. Kevin Williams of First Baptist Church of Villa Rica for President of our convention when we gather at Ingleside in Macon in November. I have known Kevin for many years and believe in his character and integrity.
Great morning this morning at North Metro with our first Sunday back with a soft launch. Over 500 in attendance with 3 people present who made Professions of Faith online. Rejoicing. Good to preach to more than cameras.
Introducing Our newest addition to our family. Meet Caroline Rose Godwin. She was birthed to Kristen and Blake this past Monday. She looks just like her mom when she was a baby.
What our Governor and President has asked us to do has nothing to do with our Religious Liberties. It has everything to do with the health of our citizens. We should pray for them and work with them.
For those praying for my mom, she came through surgery fine last night and is already sitting up in a chair. I am not really sure she knows we have been there. On my way to do a wedding. Left Mary to take care of her. Thanks for praying.
This morning in NC with my grandson Carter. He is playing the role of Jesus. He had to dress up to the one he admired the most. His mom and dad are doing it right. Proud of them.
The problem of former Presidents opinion is just that- his opinion. When he says Jesus would approve of same sex marriage - he then says “I have no scripture for it.” Enough said.
