Every time I have a patient from prison, I give them a regular diet even if they’re obese, have a cardiac history, and maybe “should” be on a cardiac, low sodium, low fat, and calorie restricted diet. They can have descent food for the 3 days they are under my care. It’s ok. 🤷🏾‍♂️

When I consider the fact that Dr. Jeffrey Lieberman was the head of psychiatry at Columbia, a prestigious medical school, and former president of the American Psychiatry Association, it’s easier to understand why the DSM-V is such a mess.
