Cubs Convention Prospect take aways P.1
Kevin Alcantara is now physically bigger than Elly De La Cruz and word out of the Cubs org is he has spent most of the offseason working on his approach at the plate. There is a legit shot that Alcantara becomes a top 30 prospect this year.

George was by far the best position player I saw all year; the kid can flat out hit and fly around the diamond. You need to keep tabs on George as he transitions over to pro ball there is significant upside.
With the 489th overall pick (Round 16), the

select OF Nate George out of Minooka Community HS in Illinois.
Per MLB, “one of the fastest players in the draft. Plus-plus runner and a gifted athlete with strength and quick right-handed stroke”
Anderson Espinoza is a guy to watch going forward for the Cubs. Since Espinoza joined AA Tennessee he has a 1.86 ERA 9.31 K/9 85.7% LOB% 56.5% GB%. I would like to see Espinoza cut down on the walks but this is very promising for the 23 year old going forward.

Diving deeper into Yophery Rodriguez was really fun. The kid can really swing it along with an approach that is ahead of his peers.
Signed for $1.5M in 2023 and the polish was immediately evident at the DSL, where he walked more than he K'd. Already great body control.
