Idea for a new tournament for the eight clubs who didn’t participate in the National League Cup.
We get eight teams from Serie C and reinstate the Anglo-Italian Cup.
The 8 National League clubs who are not participating in the National League Cup:
York City, Barnet, Eastleigh, Solihull Moors, Hartlepool United, Yeovil Town, Southend United & AFC Fylde
Barnet have now lost seven of their last nine games against Wrexham, scoring twice in the process.
Please go back to the Football League and leave us alone.
A dear friend of DSH’s 10 year old son goes home with some superb memorabilia tonight.
@lauriewalker89
chucked their keeper’s bottle in the away end after their first penalty. Brilliant.
This is unbelievable. Literally unbelievable.
Bear in mind we have been here before and there is a long way to go but it’s an unbelievable statement of intent.
If TK pulls this off then fair play to him.
All hail the Pre Poured Pints South Underhill Stadium!
Live scenes at The Hive as determined fans of champions-elect Chesterfield have made it through the horrendous winter conditions to declare the game playable after all.

33 years ago today, Gary Bull’s stunning long range volley wrapped up the Conference title and promotion to the football league for the first time in our history. Fisher Athletic 2-4 Barnet. Champions.

It’s 30 years today (ignore the incorrect date on the clip) that Barnet beat Manchester City 1-0 in the Coca Cola Cup 2nd Round, 1st Leg at Underhill.

ON THIS DAY - 2015
Barnet are crowned champions of the Conference for the third time after a 2-0 win over Gateshead in front of over 5,000 at The Hive.
Wouldn’t mind us channeling some of that this weekend…!
Morning all. Here’s a reminder of what Dean Brennan inherited just over two years ago.
If he can turn that around, he can turn this blip around. With any luck, that starts tomorrow at that odd little place down the road.
We’d encourage all to go experience it and back the team.
❌ GAME OFF | Following a failed pitch inspection tonight's rearranged FA Trophy tie at home to
@HendonFC
has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Grosvenor Vale.
We will inform supporters as soon as a new date has been arranged.
30 -
@nickekabamba
is the first player to reach 30 competitive goals in a season for Barnet since John Akinde in 2014-2015. He is only the 7th player to do it in the last 50 years. Legend?

In six playoff campaigns, Barnet have never made a final. However, this is the first time that we’ll have a home game as the deciding game before the final.
It’s on us now to pack The Hive in the next two weeks and see them home.
Don’t even want to think about the W word…
This man was magnificent today. Back to his best. Ridiculous save at the death. And as ever, didn’t disappoint with a friendly wave to his new Essex pals at full time.
Top keeper. Top shithouse. Geezer.
38 - With 38 points after 16 games, this is the best ever start to a league season in Barnet's professional history - the most points at this stage of the season in 58 years.
Compared to randomly selected seasons...
2004-2005 - 37 (+1)
1990-1991 - 35 (+3)
2014-2015 - 33 (+5)
9 - Barnet fans have often sung about dreaming of a nine point Christmas, but 2023 (Boreham Wood, Southend x2) is the first time that feat has been achieved since 2006 (Shrewsbury, Peterborough, Bury). Jingle.
Barnet FC can confirm that Dale Gorman has left the Club following the expiration of his contract.
Everyone at Barnet FC thanks Dale for all his efforts while at the Club and wish him all the best for the future.

20 - Today's win puts Barnet on 20 league wins for the season. After winning 21 last season, it is the first time that Barnet have won 20+ games in consecutive league seasons (excl. Playoffs) since 1991-1992/1992-1993. Spoils.
ON THIS DAY - 2019
A mad night at The Hive as Barnet drew 3-3 with then Championship side Brentford in the FA Cup 4th Round. A Shaq Coulthirst brace and a Dan Sparkes free-kick earned us a replay.
A crowd of 6215 remains our highest home crowd since 1973 (10919 v. QPR). Bee.
ON THIS DAY - 1991
The final competitive meeting between Enfield and Barnet took place at Southbury Road in the FA Cup 2nd Round.
Newly Football League Barnet dismantled their beleaguered non-league rivals 4-1, Mark Carter scoring a hat trick, in front of a crowd of 5120. Derby.
ARTICLE - It's the morning after the day before and we are still pinching ourselves that this is real. Both Eric and Max have penned a joint article to sum up their thoughts on yesterday's statement.
We're the famous Barnet FC and we come from Underhill.
Chesterfield appear to be under the impression that one point from their last six is a foregone conclusion, dismissing the idea that we can win all of our last seven and swing the goal difference by 24 goals.
It’s this attitude that will see them struggle in the playoffs.
Article: Harry Pritchard
A proper player. We look back on a relatively short but hugely impactful spell at Barnet for our recently departed midfielder. Wishing
@Harry_Pritchard
all the best with his health moving forward.
Even by our usual Barnet-it standards, that one takes the piss.
A total bottle job and embarrassing from start to finish.
A brilliant season pissed away with poor team selection and tactics. Atrocious all over the pitch.
Outfought, outthought, out of ideas.
See ya later.
So…
- Until 3:45pm yesterday (Xmas Eve) we were able to turn up on the day like we always do for away games.
- Then it was made all-ticket.
- Sales for away fans were then stopped on Xmas Day morning with no communication. There’s still none.
Apparently this is our fault.
ON THIS DAY - 2005
It’s 18 years since that night in Manchester…
- Flitney’s moment of madness.
- A referee who couldn’t have enjoyed making a ‘big call’ more.
- Graz’s dubious disallowed goal that should have made it 1-1.
- Sinclair ’74
- Praise from Sir Alex
10 - Not many Barnet players have reached double figures in two consecutive seasons in recent years, but
@Harry_Pritchard
has. He's also the first midfielder to do it in over 40 years. Skip.
ON THIS DAY - 2007
A Jason Puncheon hat trick saw off Dagenham & Redbridge 3-1 in a League 2 clash at Underhill. Fair to say he was a bit too good for that level.

4 - Since 1950, only five players have scored four hat-tricks in a calendar year for Barnet. Exceptional.
1958 - Johnny Welch
1964 - Roger Figg
1964 & 1965 - Tony Harding
1988 - Gary Abbott
2023 -
@nickekabamba
5 - Only five players in the last 30 years have scored three competitive hat-tricks for Barnet.
Gary Bull, Mark Carter, Giuliano Grazioli, John Akinde and Nicke Kabamba.
Great article from

in the

this weekend.
Even we did a double take at some of those manager stats. What a job Brennan continues to do.
ON THIS DAY - 2011
The Graz Escape
Jubilant scenes at Underhill as the most outrageous of escapes was pulled off with a final day victory over Port Vale. Finishing 22nd never felt so good. What a day.
10 - Barnet are unbeaten in ten league games for the first time since 2007. The record of 26 points (W8, D2, L0) in this run has only been matched or bettered once since 1990.
Obviously that was in 2004. Patch.
ON THIS DAY - 2018
Three times.
For the 3rd time in 17 years, Barnet were relegated from the football league. Despite a late rally under Allen, including a 3-0 v Chesterfield on the final day. Coventry’s shithouse behaviour v Morecambe that day will not be forgiven or forgotten.
There’s been a few games this season where Kanu has had nothing from officials because “he goes down easily”.
Referee last night was determined to give no fouls on him. This is about as blatant a penalty as you’ll see anywhere.
Gets worse every time you watch it.
2 - Marvin Armstrong is the first Barnet player to score two or more goals on their birthday since Mark Carter scored a hat-trick away at Brentford in December 1991. Cake.
Good luck to Darren Currie and the team at Yeovil in the play offs today. The away end will sadly be a little less yellow page confetti and balloon filled than in our last play off appearance - but maybe this time the result will also be different...?
ON THIS DAY - 2005
Barnet were crowned Nationwide Conference champions at Underhill. The league was won with three games to spare after beating Halifax Town 3-1 with goals from Strevens, King and Grazioli. An incredibly special afternoon in EN5.
#BringBarnetBack
A highly dissatisfactory conclusion. The whole situation is a real shame.
Top keeper who could do a job for anyone in this league.
Good luck to Laurie in the future and thanks for the memories!
What we learned this week.
- “Billy big bollocks” gets you nowhere in the NL.
- Big crowds don’t win games.
- Southend have unique circumstances and we do wish them well, but some (not all) of their fans look a bit silly now.
- Barnet are back.
Onto Altrincham. Happy New Year.
ON THIS DAY - 2004
Twenty years ago today (!), Barnet secured a play off place with a tense 2-1 win over Leigh RMI on the final day of the season.
Behind early, Yakubu equaliser, Grazioli’s first goal in 3 months to win it. Busy Underhill in glorious sunshine. What a day.
Full meltdown from Chesterfield supporters because our pitch, like the rest of the country, is frozen.
We should invite them down anyway. Any more of this and they’d melt down the pitch in minutes.
They’ll win the rearranged game anyway. They came, they thaw, they conquered.
ON THIS DAY - 2019
Shaq Coulthirst’s first half penalty is enough to complete a big FA Cup shock at Sheffield United.
It was the first and only time we had beaten a second tier club in the competition as a non-league side. Blunted.
4 - Barnet have won their first four home league games of the season. This has only happened four times in the last 48 seasons and is the first time since...last season. Support.
We want to find the most popular Barnet home kit of the modern era, so we’re going to pit 32 of them against each other. It’s the Barnet World Cup of Kits 🏆
Starting Friday, we’ll have 8 groups of 4 kits for you to vote on via our Twitter.
Which are you backing to win?
6 - Barnet have won their first six home league games for only the fourth time in their history, the other occasions being 1976-1977, 1966-1967 and 1929-1930. Buzzing.
If the away end at The Hive runs out of food on Saturday, I want our response to be “well you should’ve known this could happen. You’ve had weeks to buy food and eat”.
🎣 Nibbling
Weird attitude from Southend fans towards us for not buying tickets in advance (when it wasn’t all-ticket until yesterday) and having a pop at our support.
We know our crowds are low. Let’s put your club next to Arsenal/Spurs rather than Canvey Island and then see.
ON THIS DAY - 2012
On a rainy Friday night, Champions League winner
@esdavids
made his Barnet debut at Underhill. In a player-manager-captain free role, the Dutchman inspired the Bees to their first win of the season at the 13th time of asking, trouncing Northampton Town 4-0.
19 - Nicke Kabamba has reached 19 goals in all competitions, matching his tally from last year.
Only 10 times in the last 32 seasons has our top scorer got more goals. There’s still at least 26 games left.
The highest in that period is John Akinde with 33 in 2014-2015.
Hatful.

ON THIS DAY - 2005
4500 Barnet fans descended on Old Trafford for a League Cup tie v Manchester United.
A 4-1 defeat with a sickening early red for Flitney but no one can take away the memories of the celebrations when Sinclair rounded Tim Howard to give us a deserved goal.
Just over 24 hours until one of the biggest home games I can think of in 23 years of supporting Barnet. Thank goodness it’s at the right end of the table for once.
Remember if you’re out all day tomorrow, stay hydrated and keep calm.
Let’s bloody win.
ON THIS DAY - 2012
HAPPY MARK HUGHES DAY!
Barnet secured their football league status on the final day for a third season in a row, with a hard fought victory at Burton Albion.
Good luck to
@mark4hughes
in the play offs with his Kings Lynn side this weekend 👊
3 - Nicke Kabamba has scored only the third Barnet hat-trick in the last eight years. The last to do it was Simeon Akinola in 2019 at home to Ebbsfleet. Rumours.
21 - Barnet have now won 21 league games this season. This matches the tally of games won in the previous two league seasons combined.
In other words we’ve won 21 of 44 this season versus 21 of the previous 86. Points.
A class act. No idea what position he was playing for the most of the second half. I don’t think we need to know. He knows. The Collinge free role. What a player.
