This is truly one of the biggest honors I have ever received! I will never forget when Bo was on the Cowboys and had that 90 yard touchdown pass, during which he completely trucked John Offerdahl! Thanks, Bo and Almond Breeze!
Get well soon
@Goran_Dragic
- we love you, and thank you for leading us to the Finals. Watching this playoff run has been a privilege for all of us Heat fans.
One year ago today...
Jimmy Butler put his body on the line in a gutsy performance during Game 5 of the 2020 NBA Finals.
Butler tallied 35 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists, and 5 steals while outdueling the greatest basketball player of our generation.
I'm NOT saying the Heat should go get Kyrie Irving, at all. But I AM saying he is a guy who might be available for what they have to trade, and he fills a big need for them, which is the ability to go get his own bucket off the bounce against the best defenders in the world.
Was the Celtics bubble run to the ECF a fluke? Sure seems so. They were uniquely qualified to flourish in the bubble, not really built for the regular NBA.
Fyi, the Suns interest isn't real, it's a ploy by Washington to try to get Miami to increase its offer. Shams just doing the Wizards dirty work. Don't be fooled.
Developing: Washington is in serious talks with two finalists β Miami and Phoenix β on a Bradley Beal trade, sources tell
@TheAthletic
@Stadium
. The Suns have emerged as a serious threat for Beal, who holds a no-trade clause.
PJ Tucker is a perfect fit on the Bucks, he can stand in the corner and watch Giannis stumble into a spin move against three defenders, catch his weak, off-target kickout, and bounce a triple off the side of the backboard. Heat in 5.
The Sixers lost 250 games on purpose over 4 seasons so they could max Tobias Harris, come in 6th place in their conference, and get bounced in the first round by their arch rivals. Some Heat fans thought this was a genius plan that Pat Riley should imitate!
How crazy was that 2017 NBA Draft? Donovan Mitchell at No. 13, Bam Adebayo at No. 14, John Collins at No. 19, OG Anunoby at No. 23, Kyle Kuzma at No. 27. Sometimes it's about more than the lottery balls.
Man, the Heat are one win from the NBA Finals! Just to BE in this position, so exciting! I cannot wait for the game tonight. I am sure it will be a slog, like every high level playoff game, but if we tough this one out, man oh man....
No rings at 33
2-5 record in the finals all-time
Only 18.2 PPG for his career
32% from 3
5-10 record in elimination games
58-57 record in the playoffs
Scored less than 15 points 30 times in the playoffs
Blew a 2-0 lead after winning the first 2 road games
Bricks big shots
I wish Mark Jackson would shut the hell up. Every time a Laker makes a 3, he says the Heat are giving up practice shots. Every time the Lakers break the paint, he says the the zone is extended too far out. So hard to figure out why no one will give him another coaching job.
This Duncan Robinson revival is one of the more enjoyable Heat basketball stories in recent memory. I also love watching Jaquez play. This has turned into a fun season so far, and for me, that's really what I want.
Of course I will watch the whole game, but in case some of you don't, I want to say how much I enjoyed experiencing this whole season w you. It was absolutely amazing in an otherwise brutal year. Thank you to all for the great fun. Maybe the most joyous Heat season ever.
For a giant human, Anthony Davis spends a lot of time rolling around on the floor writhing in pain from things that he is, moments later, absolutely fine from. Just saying.
Weird the Celtics were able to complain and get Embiid's shot clock basket reversed like 14 possessions later, but the Heat are still waiting for Gabe Vincent's two points.
LeBron doesn't have this, an actual home franchise & fan base where he is unconditionally loved. I'm sure he doesn't care, but I'm glad we have Dwyane and he has us.
Is this legit the most joyous run in the entire history of the Heat, this 10-1 playoff run? Other playoffs also had grueling, anxiety-inducing losses - we are on a 3 week wave of ecstasy. Was the 27 wins in a row better? Maybe just different...
I just turned on the TV and before I could mute it, I heard Mike Greenberg say the Celtics have an edge tonight due to their historically superior record in Game 7s, because that isn't the stupidest analysis of all time.
Oh, interesting that Rick Carlisle admitted Spo outcoached him, specifically citing the zone as taking the Mavs out of their rhythm. I guess Rick Carlisle doesn't follow enough members of Heat Twitter.
Never forget how terrible Gabe Vincent was, and through constant haranguing from all of us at Heat Twitter, he decided to turn his career around. It wasn't ALL us, Gabe definitely had a hand in it, but it shows how powerful Heat Culture is.
Man, I was fine last night, but I just woke up at 530 am feeling so sad. Not really because the Heat lost, but because the adventure is over. It will never be quite the same again, things always change. I loved watching this group play basketball, it was a true privilege.
That Butler pass to Crowder for the dagger 3 was fire. And Goran set a strong screen on Giannis to trigger it. Goran's set a ton of great, late screens in these playoffs. Butler had his hand in the air trotting down the court celebrating before the ball even left Jae's hand.
The Portland Trailblazers are ruining the off-season. Nobody is enjoying this, not Dame, not Heat Twitter, Portland fans, Adam Silver, Hubie Brown, NO ONE. This Cronin guy is a plague upon all of us, just give us Dame already, you dillweed....
Breaking news: Brad Beal WILL be a member of the Miami Heat next season! I have this story first for
@DeucesPodcast
as always! Don't forget to credit me when it happens!
What?!! The Celtics lost to the Wizards? I thought the Heat were the only team to ever lose a game to a team with a worse record. This score must be a mistake, but just in case, we should Fire Spo.
If the Heat end up with Lowry, that is going to be a lot of pressure on
@gnavas103
because if Lowry doesn't lead us to the Finals - like Goran Dragic did, btw - we are all holding Giancarlo personally responsible.
This isn't a shot at him, but I am almost at the point where I forget Ira covers the Heat, and when I see a tweet by him, I am surprised. Ethan and Alf and Trop and Leif do such a great job covering the team, that's all I need. Okay, goodnight.
I like this Jaime Jaquez, he seems very pleasant, and I like how he looked big time reporters like
@BradyHawk305
right in the eye, considered their questions, and then gave a thoughtful answer. So far he is a-okay with me.
If Cronin sends Dame anywhere but Miami, nerds online will champion him as a "new-era gm tough enough to take on players and win." But then when he gets fired because he doesn't turn the Blazers around, those same nerds will say, "he was dumb not to accept Miami's offer."
Man, it's weird, I don't see too many tweets about how great Spo's rotations were tonight. Maybe I am just missing them? It almost seems like people only like to talk about rotations when the Heat lose, hmmm.
Man, how tough are the Heat? They win the game, end up in OT on a totally bizarre bad luck play, immediately get behind in OT, then Goran and Bam bully in layups over Embiid to win the game again. Culture.
Fuck every person slandering Kamala Harris as a "dei hire," for one, just say the word, and two, as someone married to a strong, accomplished black woman, if you think this country just gives shit to black women out of the goodness of its heart, you are fucking out of your mind.
I don't know how long it can last, but I am approaching this game with the mindset to enjoy the moment, and not get too wound up. It could be several months until the Heat make the Finals again, so have to savor this one.
One underrated factor in the Heat's game one victory is that the Boston Garden is such an easy place to play. Fans are kinda lame, not very loud, and leave early. It was deathly quiet in there much of the second half, pretty comfortable place for the visiting team.
The Heat are in the Finals powered by the great play of Caleb Martin and Duncan Robinson, just like we all expected when the playoffs started. Never really in doubt.
I should be getting ready for work right now, but I heard Jokic was voted NBA MVP, not me. Still lying in bed, feeling pretty down. Will probably do a crappy job today, hope somebody notices my distress.
Idk who said it on here, but Miami really is that No. 5 seed that makes a great Final Four run but gets blasted in the national Semifinal vs. the top overall seed.
Doris Burke is rooting for the Knicks, very annoying. She wanted free throws for the Knicks on a rebound that was caroming all over the place, and dismissed the possibility of a foul on an open field tackle of Jimmy Butler. I believe she is from the NY area, unsurprising.
@realStanVG
@JuliusCesar25
Coach, I said it at the time, and I stand by it now: I don't think you should have maxed out Andre Drummond. My name is
@hottakeharry
, and I am willing to own this opinion.
I know the Dame situation is confusing right now, but one thing we can all agree on is that if the Heat do not get Dame, 100% of the blame belongs to
@EthanJSkolnick
for asserting all along the Heat would get him.
