Assamese Hindus wear white in their weddings. Assamese Hindus are Indians. Assamese Hindus wear white for their mourning. Assamese Hindus do not wear the Mangalsutra or Kaleera. My limited point being, Indians are diverse, colours have varied connotations as per local culture.

#Jorhat This is Narendra. Father of one of my Class3 kid. Came today morning with 3 Rohu fish for me. He was busy cleaning them up by the time i came downstairs. I know that he like many other parents in my school are facing a cash crunch. We haven’t been taking fees since March.

Deep in the Assamese countryside, the প্ৰসাদ prasad served on Tithis is distributed among entire villages. Thats lots of ppl. They have no access to nor buy modern fruits like apple, pear, grapes to decorate the prasad. Instead, this is what u get. Coconut, Mogu(moong) n Mithoi.

It’s goomdhan season Raiz! Plucked the first corn cobs today. These babies are very tender n milky right now. So am going to slash them with butter n Kazi Nemu, put sections of them in foil and bake them in the oven for around 30mins at 200 degree C. Serve them with chaat masala.

I am simmering with anger. Seeing many non indigenous handles writing in the Assamese language, but against Assamese interests. How did it come to this ? That a non indigenous staying in Assam, has the audacity to attack any Assamese on SM ? Is it because of official patronage ?

My mother plants her tomatoes 🍅 underneath our Kordoi / Starfruit / কৰ্দৈ and Rohdoi / Sweet Starfruit / ৰহদৈ trees. The regular leaf droppings and fruit decomposing naturally into the soil provides the best nutrients to the tomato plants. This is today’s harvest.
