Meet sculptor Saroj Rout who has created a 3ft high terracotta sculpture - the Nabakalebara Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath. The artist, who hails from Kendrapara, is a 2008 alumnus of the Dhauli College of Art & Craft and did his masters from Visva Bharati, Shantiniketan, in 2012.

Sun Temple today after scaffoldings were removed from the monument. The scaffoldings were first put up in south-east corner of Jagmohan in 1990 for conservation but subsequently, covered the entire monument. Pics by ASI, Bhubaneswar Circle.

Excavations revealed a circular mud fortification in the 4.9 km radius of the village which is surrounded by rivers Sona on south and Budhabalanga on north-east. Close to the village, two nullas Gangahara and Prassana join the site on the north and south forming a natural moat.

Beautiful Idital paintings of Lanjia Soura community of Rayagada. Idital comprises of Idi (writing) and Tal (wall), which means writings on the wall. The paintings are mostly based on 62 deities that thecommunity worships. There is a painting for almost every occasion in life.

Architectural fragments that fell off the 13th century Sun temple at #Konark are left to rot in the open, exposed to salinity and humidity, at the ASI Museum which was opened in 1968 to preserve them. While ASI struggles with space & logistics, #Odisha Govt seems little bothered.

Vegetarian fare for Maa Durga (thread) Dasami Bhoga is almost synonymous with Dahi Pakhala and vegetarian accompaniments such as Saga Bhaja, Baigani at many pandals in Cuttack. It is believed that Dahi Pakhala is offered to the Goddess to calm her anger after killing Mahisasura.

JCB machines are used to level land in the area close to Suka-Sari temple complex where an ancient structure, architectural fragments have been found by Bhubaneswar circle of @ASIGoI Also, no one knows where the debris which cud hv contained several fragments, was disposed of.
