There is some seriously concerning systemic issues within the music scene. People wonโt call people out due to fear of being canceled themselves. Festivals donโt publicly acknowledge deaths due to possible legality issues. The gap between making it and paying your way is also 1/3
Just seeing how
@Subtronics
went from selling merch out of a backpack to selling out the FORUM is just absolutely inspiring! Not to mention bringing along so many talented artists on his journey so far, manโs really deserves the world ๐๐ผ
concerning as someone can waltz into the scene with a trust fund and start playing massive festivals within months. Hell, me even tweeting this could have repercussions but it makes me physically sick seeing/hearing issues in a scene that was built on love/inclusiveness 2/3
Putting so much passion into something and watching it not only blossom but grow into something so much bigger is insanely fulfilling. Iโm so thankful for all of you and I am so excited for the future โ๐ผ๐
Artist: "No shows" so no income
People: "Go get a job, swallow your pride!"
Artist: "If I don't stay relevant as an artist my career will be over"
People: Don't you make enough money?
Artist: *Plays CDC guideline show to make said money*
People: "How DARE you! Cancel him!"
Things genuinely need to change within the system of how the industry works, itโs something that Iโm personally dedicated to changing even if itโs only to scratch the surface. 3/3
So elephant in the room here, why, in dubstep, are we so unbelievably clicky? Weโre a damn community and we all thrive when we are one, wtf happened to that?
@GetterOfficial
@Excision
Might be the same flow but pretty easy to tell itโs a completely different sound design. Excisions sounds more tearout with a comb filter where as SL is more of a saw wave based zipper type tone. Again, might be the same flow but nearly everyone copies flows these days ๐คฆ๐ฝโโ๏ธ
Giant shoutout to
@Excision
for giving me the biggest goosebumps ever playing my โTremorโ remix out on MainStage, hearing that paired with the lights was absolutely incredible!

Only thing Iโd like to say is: I wish artists were allowed to open up more, call people on their shit and just keep it real in this scene without getting gatekept or backlash. How many people would we save? How many people would we stop before they do horrible things? The
Itโs so exhausting being an artist these days. Have had numerous chats with people and itโs actually quite disturbing how many people are in the same exact boat right now.
Support the artists that arenโt on those huge main stages yet, itโs extremely tough to survive rn ๐๐ผ
You donโt have โyour own soundโ if itโs literally just the same exact main bass every single song. You have one sound. If people can tell itโs you across different sound design THATS when you have your own sound.
Enormously humble shout out to these dons supporting my music lately
@Excision
@ATLiensOfficial
and
@zedsdead
thank you guys so unbelievably much it truly means the world to me! โ๐ผ๐
Make sure to check on your producer friends. Being an artist is sometimes one of the loneliest jobs on the planet let alone the constant pressure/stress the music industry puts on everyone can be very debilitating.
Want a scene full of good music and good people? Stop letting these clout chasing people get put on. Stop letting trust fund babies blow up in the scene because they want to be famous and turn out to be douche bag predators. Iโm so sick of this scene letting in ass holes.

This one kicks off the idea of bringing art and deeper meanings into my merch instead of just words or a logo
This piece represents entering into a new version of myself and the project. Fully letting go
After doing taxes and running numbers for income/expenses, idc what anyone has to say about musicians and how much they โmakeโ per show. Itโs deeply disturbing to see how excruciatingly difficult it is to survive as a musician with heightened travel costs.
So where and when does the split between local and big dj happen? Been thinking about how so many big artists don't reply while others do and it really shows character ๐
I don't EVER want to be that guy that doesn't reply to someone. I love all of you and you deserve a response
Waking up with two tracks in the top 10 and one of them holding

is justโฆ Idek where to begin explaining how grateful and thankful I am for everyone โ๐ผ๐ญ
@SweetToothAudio
Let alone the:
- countless fake people who kill ur mentals
- countless noโs from labels as an underground artist
- flight price outweighing many chances to play
- the cost of taking time off work/what ur paid to play
- the mental implications of some who compare or see others
Iโm just gonna say it, I made my own lane and style and people have been jackinโ it for years now so bad that labels even think Iโm copying others and itโs getting out of hand
