Deeply saddened that the House just passed HB509 to repeal legislation we passed in 2020 to protect gun owners who are at risk of suicide. The number of gun suicides has increased 25% over the past 10 years and this bill will only put more Virginians at risk.

Assault weapons are not used in all mass shootings - true. But isn’t the death of one child from an assault weapon enough to justify restrictions on these weapons? What about the deaths of three children, and three adults, today in Nashville?
