The reason they're taking so long is because they rushed the March CB and upset a lot of people when it was shown many of the higher-up players had hacked. It's lose-lose

@AlbionHero @Stealth40k FE has been story-focused even before Awakening. The main difference is the focus on a stricter, linear approach for older games versus a more open choice-based approach for the newer. From what I've read Engage is trying to balance the two.
