Today was one of the difficult nights. We struggled to control the queue that got quite hectic. The queue tonight was unbelievable too, we worked without a break from 6:10pm to 8:10pm. We gave lots of hot meals, sleeping bags, hats, and gloves as weather getting rather chilly.

The problem is Gavan, that to take a case through court you need lots of money, time, and the capacity to find and direct counsel. The cohort involved here are the least likely to have all three. Many don’t get to court, never mind reach settlement.

In January the Irish Mail on Sunday ran this story. On querying a €50 Million transaction at the Department of Health, I was told that there was “Arthur Daley Accounting” involved. I was also told by a senior civil servant that there were “dodgy dealings at a high level”.
