@RnaudBertrand
Israel has targeted UN buildings in the past and probably has murdered many UN workers. I'm too lazy to look up the facts right now. It would be in Norman Finkelstein's book, Gaza: An Inquest into its Martyrdom, though.
@RitchieTorres
Astroturf? Astroturf means that it has support from some wealthy group but no grassroots support. These people don't have support from wealthy patrons; everything they're doing is grassroots.
@BriannaWu
@PlayingStarWars
It does not support it. "Valid claims" in the modern world do not come from Biblical history. They come from being part of the nation-state system. In the modern world, you cannot make a valid claim using the Bible.

@nanaslugdiva
I'm surprised to see you write that. I think that anyone who at all had sense knew that the justices were not committed to upholding Roe v. Wade
@BriannaWu
@oxinsocks
Do you believe it would be appropriate to say that in South Africa under apartheid neither black people nor white people had a monopoly on pain? Or would that be an ugly, gross thing to say?
@BigMeanInternet
I don't see why that sounds fake at all. The only thing that might be hard to believe is that a climate scientist is politically aware enough to make that comment. But surely at least *one* climate scientist in the whole U.S. is politically aware enough to make that comment.

I understand what she means, but, also, making pay "performance-based" is arguably just theater. Everyone's pay is "performance-based" in the sense that every employee has to "perform" in order to get paid. Every employee "performs" or is not paid.

As someone whose ancestors came out of east Africa (everyone's ancestors came out of east Africa), I believe that I have the right to occupy east Africa.
@JillFilipovic
@KevOkod
This conflict didn't start yesterday, Jill. Israel's murdered Palestinian children and kidnapped Palestinian children for decades. The asserttion that women were raped by Hamas is unverified.
@TVietor08
@ZeeshanAleem
If we accept that white doctors are unconsciously racist against black patients, is it really a stretch to this that Zionist doctors are unconsciously racist against Palestinians?
@drvolts
I think Thomas Frank would say that in the late 19th century rural white men felt aggrieved, but they had legitimate grievances and were fighting the powerful instead of the powerless
@hasanthehun
Aaaaand, there have been periods in the U.S. which were more antisemitic than anything happening now. In th 20th century, there were quotas on how many Jews could get into a university, and Jews were often barred from country clubs and similar organizations. Dana Bash is full of
@noam_dworman
Political Zionism is an extremist position. It says that there should be a state where it's always the case that those who hold power are Jewish. In other states, at least theoretically, anyone who is a citizen can hold power.
sorry to ruin the Good Vibes but it's important to note that this isn't true in any meaningful sense
Harris has "called for a ceasefire" only in the way Biden has which is not, at all, what activists are demanding. I explain here->
@noam_dworman
Theoretically, it's not the case. Egypt, theoretically, is for Egyptians. Israel is not for Israelis, but for Jews. That's the difference, and it does play out in discriminatory laws and the apartheid character of the state.
@lhfang
Can you quote from a book or article about CRT which shows that you've accurately summarized this aspect you're referring to? What I've read and heard about CRT makes me think that what you've said about it is inaccurate.
@marclamonthill
Norman Finkelstein says that it's not an occupation anymore because occupations are temporary. It should now be called an annexation or apartheid.
@ryanlcooper
Jessica Pin actually wrote an article, which is used in medical textbooks, on what the clitoris looks like. That's what Ms. Pin is known for and why she has the confidence she does.
