Was thinking about this last night: Caden’s 5th place finish at the state meet was the best finish by a Warrior athlete since Wendi Robinson won the 1600 in 2005, & best by a Danville boy since Freimanis & Flanagan finished 4-5 in shot put in 2002. Congrats, @iamcadencollins !

It was a wild couple of nights for the Sagamore Conference meet, and after some gutsy performances and for the first time in 30 years, since we were in the WCC, the Warriors are conference champions for women’s and men’s track in the same year!

Very sad to announce that Coach Dick Burrows passed away today. Coach Burrows was the head football coach for 19 years from 1966-1984 and is 2nd all time at Danville w/99 career victories. He volunteered with the FB program through this season and was also an asst. track coach 🙏

Chilly meet tonight in Terre Haute! 🥶🥶 Boys pick up the dub, ladies did not. Top scorer for the ladies was @LStaigl winning the shot put and discus! Jada Lane (SP&Disc), @mikabaxter24 (300H&200), @kooperstone (400), and Evie DeRuby (1600) also picked up points for the ladies.

Great start to the night in field events for our ladies - @LStaigl is the @SagamoreConf champ with a new 35'5.5" PR! Jada Lane took 2nd with a throw of 34' 10.25" also!

Couple of DCHS alumni competing in the @Crossroads_NAIA indoor conference meet today. Daniel Gerber and his 4x800 teammates took 3rd. @ItzKyara continues her stellar season as the conference champion in the women's high jump!

The ladies' track team had a ribbon of every color tonight (hitting for the cycle?) to score 39 points and finish 5th!

And now that results are posted from the four sectionals (unless I’m just a dummy and can’t read correctly) we can safely say that @Elaw5115 will be moving on to the regional meet with a callback!

🚨Conference Champs!🚨 The boys' 4x1 team of @TekeTanksley , @carson_spurlock , @iamcadencollins , & @wuest_bj take first with a season best time of 44.28! The ladies' team of Hayala Oliver, Corrie Bloomer, Lainie Burnworth, and @harvey_shelby_ took 4th in a season best 53.18!

Other good stuff from conference - and, again (can’t stress this enough), every point was crucial: @wuest_bj came back from a hamstring injury to help secure 🥈in the 100 and 4x1 with @TekeTanksley , @carson_spurlock , and @iamcadencollins . Wuest chipped in another pt in the 200
