Always find great stories at the NHC. This year’s winner had never won a handicapping tournament. Like ANY tournament EVER. Paul also shared with me that he had an especially tough 2022. Lost his mother. He also recently got laid off. Can’t not feel just so happy for him.

Pretty cool idea. They basically sell mystery packs of tickets. $20 pounds. They give you a win/place bet, exacta, place pick 6 bet and a “survivor” pool bet. All random but an easy way to introduce people to various bets available. Had no idea there was a survivor pool, myself.

Love a good Maryland story. Owner David Palmer from Glyndon gets his first grade one win with Wet Your Whistle in the Highlander @WoodbineTB . Win also completes an incredible comeback story for jockey Alex Cintron. His first G1 and first graded stakes win of any kind since 2014.
