Joe Mixon is one of the greatest running backs in Bengals history.
He was a team leader, played hurt, and radiated joy and energy every time he took the field.
On a personal note, he was great to me and my family.
Thanks for seven terrific seasons and best of luck going forward.
Five observations from Day 13 of
#Bengals
camp:
1. Ja’Marr Chase, Tyler Boyd, and Tee Higgins are inseparable at practice.
“We’re like brothers,” said Higgins. “Blood couldn’t make us any closer. We love each other like we got the same momma.”
Has a city ever had its NFL and MLB teams put together 10 game winning streaks in a span of roughly 7.5 months?
(Not to mention an MLS franchise currently riding a 13 match unbeaten streak)
Five observations from Day 1 of
#Bengals
training camp:
1. Kudos to Tee Higgins for signing the franchise tag and reporting for the start of camp.
“Me personally, I didn’t want drama,” Tee said. “I want to be here with my guys. I love this team and I grew a love for this city.”
While I look forward to seeing Ryan Finley, I have the utmost respect for Andy Dalton as a player and person. IMO he never got enough credit for inheriting a 4-12 team and leading it to 5 straight playoffs. Plus, he’s raised a ton of money for others and done it all with class
My overwhelming emotion is gratitude.
To Luke Fickell and his staff for taking UC to places that didn’t seem possible.
To Desmond Ridder and every player on the roster for making history.
To
#Bearcats
fans for their incredible support.
It was the first time. It won’t be the last
The idea to end the event with the Kelce Brothers’ University of Cincinnati graduation ceremony was brilliant.
Kudos to all involved for a fun night!
@newheightshow
I don’t have much to say other than I loved this team and season.
The young nucleus is as good as any in the NFL and the fan base is as energized as it’s been in ages.
And we have Joe Burrow.
I feel awful for the staff, coaches, and players.
And can’t wait for next year.
Five observations from
#Bengals
practice today:
1. Zac Taylor had his son Brooks by his side:
“I said to him today, ‘How much do you think people would pay to stand behind Joe Burrow and listen to him call a play?’ Don’t take it for granted how fun that is.”
Five observations from
#Bengals
practice today:
1. Jimmy Burrow and Jimmy Chase attended today (I believe you’ve heard of their sons). They have agreed to a joint appearance on the
#Bengals
Booth Podcast in the near future 👍
Five observations from today’s voluntary
#Bengals
workout:
1. Joe Burrow took part in every drill and looked great. To my eye, there’s no discernible difference in his throws following wrist surgery
When Zac Taylor called Stanley Morgan this morning to let him know that he was being promoted to the roster the rookie receiver feared it might be bad news and didn't pick up. Zac then texted him and said, "Everything's OK, you can call me back." So he did and got the good news.
I honestly believe that the
#Bengals
will be back in the Super Bowl next year.
Admittedly, I’m biased.
But Cincinnati had the youngest roster of the 14 playoff teams and the Bengals have Joe Burrow.
Hope to see you in Vegas next February
Five observations from today’s voluntary
#Bengals
workout:
1. I continue to see no discernible difference in Joe Burrow’s throws following wrist surgery. He ended today’s practice with a pair of well thrown deep balls to Andre Iosivas
Thanks
@andydalton14
.
For giving everything you had for 9 years on the field.
For signing every autograph and posing for every selfie.
For helping families in need through your foundation.
For always representing Cincinnati with class.
Best of luck going forward

Five observations from Day 1 of
#Bengals
training camp:
1. DJ Reader points toward heaven before the start of every practice as a tribute to God and his late father David. He also rubs a tattoo that is a memorial to his dad.
32 seconds remaining.
A Logan Wilson INT.
A Joe Burrow to Ja'Marr Chase pass for 18 yards.
And a 52 yard field goal at the gun by Evan McPherson.
The Bengals are headed to the AFC Championship game.
#RuleTheJungle
Evan McPherson’s rookie year:
33 yard OT game-winner vs Vikings
35 yard game-winner at gun vs Jags
20 yard game-winner at gun vs KC
52 yard game-winner at gun vs Tenn
(Also made a 42 yarder in OT vs San Fran before 49ers scored TD)
What a McPhreaking year!
#RuleTheJungle
New Orleans is my favorite city for big sporting events. Been to a Super Bowl, 2 Final Fours, and 2 Sugar Bowls. It’s easy to get around and the Quarter is perfect for fans to gather.
I am speaking it into existence…Joe and Ja’Marr are heading back to the Bayou next year 🤞
.
@Joe_MainMixon
began his football camp by telling the kids and their parents that, “It’s all love and I’m excited to be back home.” He’s tremendous with the campers.
I wish him nothing but the best in Houston, but he’ll always be a Bengal when his playing career is over.
Do you know what’s incredibly, wonderfully, phenomenally, ridiculously awesome?
To have 25-year-old Joe Burrow as the quarterback of your favorite NFL team.
There are great DEYS ahead.
#RuleTheJungle
Has there ever been a bigger defensive play in Bengals history?
Here's the radio call of Sam Hubbard's 98-yard fumble return touchdown that gave Cincinnati a 24-17 playoff win over Baltimore.
#RuleTheJungle
Can somebody explain what Joe Burrow and the Bengals did that was so offensive?
Throw the ball in the 4th quarter with the lead?
They scored their last point with 10 minutes left.
They took a knee inside the 10 at the end of the game.
It's not exactly Sam Wyche vs Houston...
Five observations from today’s voluntary

OTA session:
1. Sheldon Rankins (

) began practicing with the team this week and joins BJ Hill, Sam Hubbard and Trey Hendrickson on the anticipated starting defensive line.
A friend of mine was at Zip’s Cafe today when Zac Taylor dropped off a game ball. It is such a cool tradition that is sure to be copied by other teams in other cities. But it started with the

Right now he is undoubtedly cracking everybody up in heaven. RIP to the kindest, funniest and most loyal friend a person could ever hope to have. I loved every minute I ever spent with Chuck Machock
Here’s what I don’t hear enough people saying about the
#Bengals
.
They were ahead of schedule this year. They have the draft picks and cap room to get better. Joe Burrow can get even better.
That doesn’t mean they’ll return to the Super Bowl next year, but they are ascending
Wow. I am floored by the kind tweets, texts, and messages I’ve received today. I am so fortunate that fate brought me to Cincinnati and eventually led to the opportunity to broadcast

athletics. I LOVE the job and this city. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
It's time to change the rule.
If the ball never touches the ground, make it a catch. Easier to understand, more fun to watch, and good for scoring. Guys can trap it against their body...squeeze it with their feet...whatever it takes...just keep the ball off of the ground.
Close one in the back of the end zone in
#CINvsBUF
. This was originally ruled a touchdown on the field, but replay overturned to incomplete.
As Ja'Marr Chase went to the ground, the ball was moving and not in his control. Good overturn.

camp.
1. With apologies to Cincinnati’s beloved chili restaurants, the city’s best “Three-Way” is Chase, Boyd, and Higgins.
“We always come out to practice together,” said Tyler Boyd. “It’s the small things. It’s like a brotherhood.”
Five observations from
#Bengals
practice:
1. Sam Hubbard: “I know what observation number one is.”
You are correct Sam.
Joe Burrow was back at practice with no sleeve on his calf. He’s had nearly five weeks for rehab and recovery
Zac Taylor called Ja'Marr Chase up to his office on Monday. Ja'Marr figured he was in trouble for his "I'm always f***ing open" comment.
Instead, Zac said, "Great f*** interview" after seeing the entire thing.
Ja'Marr's response?
"I can go about my day with a smile now."
5 observations from the
#Bengals
joint practice vs Green Bay.
1. Joe Burrow attended practice for the 1st time since straining his calf 13 days ago.
“It’s always nice to have his presence out there,” said O-coordinator Brian Callahan. “I think it’s good for guys to see him out.”
Working on my five observations from

practice…in the meantime, here’s a little slow-mo of Joe Burrow throwing a football to whet your appetite
What a night!
Can’t wait to rewatch the game and hear how my pal Mike Tirico called it. Based on his perfect description of Sam Hubbard’s fumble return, I know it’s going to be a treat

“Everyone has a responsibility to do good” - Joe Burrow
Those aren’t just words for the
#Bengals
QB. The
@Burrowfdn
raised a ton of money today at his golf tournament to provide resources and support to the underprivileged and underserved.
The guy gets it.
Five observations from Day 9 of
#Bengals
training camp:
1. Logan Wilson’s recent contract extension means that he and Germaine Pratt will be together on defense for at least 3 more years.
“I feel like we have one of the best tandems at linebacker in the league,” said Lou Anarumo.
The
#Bearcats
improve to 20-1 since the start of 2020 with a 45-28 win at USF. The one loss occurred on a 53-yard FG with :03 remaining to a team that’s winning by 31.9 ppg this year.
What we are witnessing is remarkable! Congrats to every coach, player, and staff member 🔴⚫️🏈
Joe Burrow: “I just didn’t want to be presumptuous about the pick. That’s why I’ve been noncommittal. Because I don’t know what’s going to happen. They might not pick me. They might fall in love with someone else. You guys kind of took that narrative and ran with it.”
#Yep
Five observations from Day 12 of
#Bengals
camp:
1. Trey Hendrickson was giving Myles Murphy pass-rushing tips.
“It’s more than just being big, strong, and fast,” said Murphy. “It’s the technical stuff when it comes to pass rushing, run stopping and everything in-between. “
Five observations from the
#Bengals
practice today:
1. Irv Smith Jr. isn’t juggling three footballs to pass the time. He began doing it to improve his eye/hand coordination. He started with tennis balls before moving to footballs. I suggested flaming torches next 🤓
Five observations from Day 4
of
#Bengals
training camp:
1. Joe Mixon is tremendous at interacting with fans. With the lower bowl of Paycor Stadium packed for “Back Together Weekend,” Joe did a Jungle Jump after a TD run, played catch with kids in the stands, and posed for selfies
Since the start of the 2013-14 season, Wichita State is 94-9 at Charles Koch Arena. The
#Bearcats
are 3-0 and the only team to beat the Shockers on their home floor more than once. Remarkable
Trey Hendrickson is tied with TJ Watt for the NFL lead in sacks with 17.
He could become the first Bengal to lead the league since that became an official stat in 1982.

I find myself repeating it in a dreamy voice like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz saying “There’s no place like home…there’s no place like home.”

2. The object of this drill is to maneuver around the obstacles, make an off-platform throw, and hit the crossbar from approximately 20 yards away.
No problem for Joe Burrow
3. It was a good day for the defense and during one particularly dominant stretch, Mike Hilton turned to me on the sideline and said, “Dan, write down that the offense can’t do sh*t. That should be observation number three.”
You got it Mike.
