We are playing in 1 tournament/showcase next year. The rest of our Summer is games and team camps at colleges, in front of actual college coaches. How at this point, can I ask parents to pay thousands of dollars to go play a tournament without that exposure, to come home with a

Watching the LL world series. I feel like if you're 5'10" 160 lbs with a starter mustache, and dropping F bombs coming off the field, you should be on the big field. Honestly my friends would've made fun of me if I was still pitching from 46 ft at that point, with 200foot fences.

Told you I would post it. 2.25 showcase pop time, when I couldn’t feel my fingers, so I had to throw a palm ball. Ended up 4 feet in front of the box, which means if I actually got my feet down behind the plate, and there was a batter in the box, I bet I’d be 2.6. It sure does

We run at the end of a normal practice. It amazes me how much hate there is for having kids run. Why is running bad for you again? We do modified tempo runs. Hard and explosive for 90', then recover for 90', and repeat. Yes, I join in as well. Guess what? Running is good for u.

I like promoting people that go above and beyond. @ZerkleSports saw a post of mine about how expensive baseballs are. I paid less than 1/2 of what I normally pay, going with him. Highly suggest contacting him. Plus, my order showed up in 5 days. Love it. @G2PSHOWCASE

My batting order stays the same throughout pool play in tourneys. I find it's good for a kid's confidence to get settled into a spot, without constantly worrying about being moved. The order changes Sunday, if necessary,but it often looks pretty similar. That's just me. Thoughts?

Proud of these two. ‘25 P/OF Cam Barbulean and his throwing partner ‘26 C James Termine. We’re in western New York, where it’s winter from Halloween till May. Their throwing program is outside, multiple times a week, without me or anyone else babysitting. It’s not ideal at all

Ended our tourney season with a 🏆 in Horseheads, NY. Had to win 4 games today to do it. The kids played near flawless ball. Proud of their fight this weekend. They have really come together as a family, in our 1st year together. Excited for the future. @Grow2Pro

Showcase- $550 Hotel(1 night)- $247.21 Gas (1 tankish for a Subaru)- $45 Meals (24 hrs for 2 people)- $80 Total- $922.21 for 24 hours of baseball. Guys, what have we done to youth baseball? Most of us can't afford that, but think we need to. We have to do better. Sermon over.

Awful weather & good pitching made their game yesterday extremely tough offensively. So today I needed a bullpen, and they needed to hit live. It was a challenge, but all 3 did well facing a good 4 pitch combo. Could’ve taken a day off for no reason. Instead they got back at it.

BP is good. I throw it all the time. But if you have a coach that throws hard, and still has offspeed stuff, use him constantly. Live bullpens do the trick as well. Kids have to see what they're going to face. Doesn't mean game at bats will be perfect, but they will be better.

Asst coaches getting run from 9U games, multiple times for yelling at an ump, is fairly obscene. At some point it falls on the head coach, for not addressing this. By the way, it embarrasses the crap out of your kid, and the rest of the parents think you're an a-hole.

I want in game pop times, or in practice with a batter in the box. Your pop time is fake if you start 4 inches behind the plate, half standing up, finish 3 ft in front of it, and directly in front of where a right handed batter would be. That's our fault as coaches for promoting

Going to all D1 team camps is fun, but that's it. For the vast, vast majority of kids, it's unrealistic. Diversify your camps, and spend your parent's registration money wisely. The gap is closing, and there is great baseball at every level of college baseball right now.

‘25 Dylan Savage C/OF, and ‘26 James Termine C, would probably like it more if I didn’t put a “batter” in the box, so their pop times would be even lower. Then again, that wouldn’t be a real pop time. 2 of the hardest working catchers you’ll find. Insanely spoiled to have them.

We are taking a different road in 2024. Getting away from the typical all tournament schedule and plastic trophies, and transitioning to college team camps/tourneys. A mix of realistic schools between JUCO, D3, D2, and, D1. We think all our kids can contribute to a college

Annual PSA. We have to beg to get a field every year, and do not take it for granted. The fact that many teams don’t prep fields after they use them, is bizarre to me. Expect your kids to take 20 minutes to do this after every practice so the next team doesn’t have to. I’m proud

Talked to a varsity ump yesterday. He gave me a tutorial on what he wants to see from a catcher. Little moves back to the corners when framing, and hold it there for a second for him. He hates kids that yank the ball 2 feet back into the middle. Says it fools no one. Yup.

Couldn't be happier for James. Kid has been near unhittable all year. Met him when he was 12, and he shook my hand, actually looked at my face and said, "Hi, Mr Termine, how are you?" 12 year olds are never that polite. Can't wait to follow him for years to come.

Very simple bucket drill. Sit on the bucket, stay down while fielding, and through the throw. Helps kids not stand up right away. Doesn't always have to be an elaborate drill, when you're teaching basics. @G2P14U

Unbelievably proud of this kid, and how hard he works. Ton of fun watching this from the 3rd base box. By the way, the pitch was in the 80's and basically at his head. Totally electric atmosphere that night from hands down, the best cheering section in Western New York.

Cheer loud, encourage, etc, but let your son achieve & fail for 2 hours on their own at games. Sorry, but there's too much parent involvement at games when it comes to coaching and umpires. Both are extremely difficult, and stressful. Sit back, & enjoy your son and his teammates.

Had a friend ask if they should contact their school coach to tell him about their kid? That coach does not want to hear from parents(including me), about playing time, position, etc. I prepared my kid the best I could to get him ready for tryouts. Now it's totally up to him.

The net has somehow lasted 3 years. Old dropcloth behind it is barely hanging on, again. Turf is worn through. Now using a work mat for a batter's box. Hole(s) in the drywall behind the net. 10's of thousands of swings. Maybe more. All for under $100. Freakin' love it.

Hell of a run today for my @Grow2Pro 13U's. Made a run all the way to the finals, only to get walked off. 3 games today in 93° heat, and 11 hours at the park, is a lot to ask of these kids. They were straight up studs. Proud coach here.

Played the @WNYProspects today at Houghton College. Lost by a field goal to a really good team. Not enough firepower to catch up to them late in the game. Good learning experience though, and another unique setting, as we play at 3 different colleges, this Fall ball season.

1996 C #24 @DanTermine 4.46 pop time. 67 mph exit velo. Blocks reluctantly. 4 years of eligibility. Throws a great bp. Good with Fungo. Professional field manicurist. Already have a pension and health insurance, so will play for a good school meal plan. Only serious offers..

Great weekend of challenging baseball for @G2PSHOWCASE . Not often happy with a 2-2 record on the weekend, but this was different. 5 loaded teams, and great prep for the rest of the way. West Virginia this coming weekend to take on @HerrodDean06 and the River Jaxx!!

Another weekend, another challenge. Played up at 15U again. Weird setup. Only the top 2 teams make it out of pool play. Just missed out, and finished 3rd. Only gave up runs in 3 total innings during the tourney. Proud of these kids. On to PBR in Toledo this week. @G2PSHOWCASE

As a player going into the new year, evaluate who you're playing for. If they promised "exposure" when you joined the team, hold them to it. Just know, it's your responsibility to work harder than anyone else you know so your coach will absolutely have no problem promoting you as

I do not cancel practices cuz it's cold. We live in the NE. We've all played HS games in the snow. Not exaggerating. My families know this, and have never once asked if we're cancelling because of it. Other teams do. I don't get it. We don't live in San Diego. @TripleCrownBSBL

1st ever injury for this dude today. Broken finger. Stayed in for a couple more plays like a true catcher, before he couldn't anymore. I feel terrible as his Jv season is now over, before it really ends. In good spirits though. @JamesTermine7 @G2PSHOWCASE @MendonBaseball

12 of these showed up today thanks to @YoungBatCompany . Tom and his crew, did an amazing job for my @Grow2Pro 13U's. They'll be put to good use in a couple weeks in Lake Placid, for an all wood bat tourney. Thanks @HerrodDean06 for turning me on to these dudes!!

All of our pitchers have 4-6 pitches. We work on all of them, a lot, so they can use them all in games. Just using FB 85% of the time, and CU the other 15%, doesn't work anymore. We will pick you apart with offspeed, because we focus on throwing those for strikes, and not just

This should be mandatory reading in a coach's manual somewhere. Pitching and catching in the same game, is way, way, too common around here.

Catchers throw the most of any position on the field. If your kid has the best arm on the team, be careful around pitching and catching on same days/weekends. Having the best arm on the team can be a blessing and a curse. Protect it at all costs.

Don’t often post about my youngest son Benjamin. First “out of the park” home run today. I get to watch as a spectator and not a coach, which is actually pretty relaxing. I enjoy it. Proud of this kid.

When us as coaches say it's an optional practice, or we provide optional strength training, we're lying. There's no such thing. It's a test to see who shows. I did it once and everyone showed. I suggest showing. @G2PSHOWCASE

Working on little moves to bring the ball back into the strike zone when low and away, followed by sticking in the middle, with 2026 James Termine C @JamesTermine7 . He's made big strides from when he used to dump low and away, out of the zone. @G2P14U

Heard this from a good friend, and a great coach. A 1/2 hr early to practice is early, but nothing to go crazy over. 15 min early is on time. On time is late, and I don't coach those clowns. Show up earlier than early. Get in a real stretch, help setup, & lead. @TripleCrownBSBL
