5 years ago my wife got diagnosed with cancer at 28 weeks pregnant, today she got the all clear and discharged. The same surgeon that day 5 years ago, rang her personally today. The NHS get a skating at times, but we owe them everything

Put everything into this one! @NIBE_UK 16kw running 4 floors of ufh, all open circuit on ONE pump. 300l megacoil and some solar thermal. Imi statico, flow through and degasser. Nibe monitoring equipment. Primary pro. Not happy with lagging though on mlcp 😭

First heatpump job complete. 9kw fixed temp Mitsi out, 7kw @vaillantuk Arotherm in with a vrc700 in running wc curve of .4. @Primarypro1 lagging used. All ufh, no buffer - direct with open volume, ufh manifold pumps and mixers removed. Don’t know if I’ve done this right or not 😅

This makes me sad and angry! 2 years old, 6.44kw heatload, 8.5kw ecodan, 6x pumps on the heating system, 1x destrat pump which is the most ridiculous way of doing it I’ve ever seen. I’ve got another survey this afternoon by the same company, I’m dreading it.

So that’s a wrap! Finally got my hands on the @ViessmannUK Vitocal 150-A. Hope I’ve done it justice as it’s one of my favourite jobs I’ve ever done! 40°c flow temp at -3°c, 9 new rads, full flush and demin filled with @thoroughflush . @Primarypro1 insulation.

@electrician_247 Getting a heatpump isn’t about lowering fuel bills, it’s a different kettle of fish to pv. The grant is there to bridge the gap for decarbonising heating not to lower homeowners fuel bills. People need to get this payback period out of their heads, we never ask it on gas

Not sure why they have kept it quiet but the other night @_heatgeek won Training Provider of The Year. People will pull it down, say it’s expensive, say it’s not worth it, this,that and the other. But there isn’t and hasn’t been anything like this in the industry before.

Finally got this one over the line it was a challenge as it’s two houses. 2x 10kw @NIBEEnergy 2050s, 300l megacoil and 100l buffer. 17x Aluminium rads to get the room outputs. (The white lagging is coming off and will be redone as I f**cked up using jt)

The home energy loan Manchester City Council have launched looks epic! £10,000 interest free (conditions above £3k but minimal) to help with energy efficiency, home comfort, improvements, reduce carbon emissions. Still be able to get the £7.5k BUS too for a heatpump.

That’s a wrap! Another @ViessmannCS_UK Vitocal 151-A. This one is running at 50°c until they do rad upgrades and bring the flow temp down over time. @RadiantControl Ufh fitted in kitchen and bathroom. @Primarypro1 used for insulation. Snug kitchen fit this time round.

As engineers should we start charging for over the phone work? I find myself in the phone for 15-20 mins repairing faults? Just had one now, they spoke to viessmann and then found me. Told him how to sort it and it’s working. Find myself doing this alot.

So being in isolation has taught me a few things; 1. Teachers are way underpaid! 2. Mothers are way under appreciated! 3. My dream off retiring at 50 and enjoying my time at home with the wife and kids has been ruined and I will be working for aslong as I possibly can.

So as an engineer I try to provide the best system and set up for my customer/client. We often get told we are too expensive, we also got told by Octopus themselves that they could trim the “fat”. This is just one I got this week, think carefully, cheap is cheap for a reason.

I was always on the fence with trunking for pipework but think it looks loads better now I’ve used it. This is how I’m going to be “clipping” the pipework, allows the pipework to be fully lagged with 19mm all thckbiess

Another @vaillantuk Arotherm this week, 50°c flow on a microbore system with 6 p+/k2 rad upgrades, , one pump no buffer! Flushed and filled with @thoroughflush . Prepared for the location and distance questions so fire them at me!!

Finally got too commission this today! 76kw of appliances removed and replaced with @ViessmannUK 222-F running 21kw heating load. Two floors of ufh cut in by @JK_floorheating upstairs running 8° hotter due to 2 tog carpet. 4x @IMIHydronicUK dynacon manifolds

So dropped Nicola off this morning to be induced. Forgot how quiet and relaxing the house is without your wife being around 😂😂 Got a McDs with the girls got back in bed and watched The Hobbit, their comment was we “won’t tell Mummy as you will be in trouble Dad”

Boilers been turned off by the smart meter fitter. Says he can’t believe I’m a gas fitter, wife thinks I’m a cowboy and the girls are lucky to be alive 😂😂😂
