On RNZ and why Labour lost Akl seats..Jones says people who door knocked said lockdowns never came up, but crime did. Crime was in every paper, news item and broadcast. Crime was served to us by media as the main course every day and has now disappeared from headlines.

One thing I've noticed about Chippy is that he is not very often 'reactive'..he's assertive and grounded in experience, knows his stuff. Solid, engaged, a genuineness there. Especially noticeable when contrasted with Mr 7 Houses sloganeering.

It was suggested to me recently that the intense negativity towards the Labour govt from msm may backfire. Media are increasingly losing the respect and trust of voters when they lack balance, quality and integrity. I think that was the case in Aus election.
