@leslibless Here's a thought... Work in the districts you represent 5 days a week, 8-5. Door is always open. Once a month, fly to D.C., vote on bills and amendments for a week, again 8-5 with in person voting required, then fly home. You get 2 weeks vacation. Plan accordingly.

@RedVelesov I have found out of my 12 varieties, that Buff Orpingtons are the best all around chicken. They tend to go broody, are excellent foragers, and do well in extreme temps (if combs are protected). The roosters grow out to roasting size, and the hens lay 250-270 eggs each year.

Bless her heart, she’s finally a mama. Miss Guinea was sitting on 10 non-fertilized eggs, and unbeknownst to her, I traded them for 6 chicken eggs. She hatched three, and is now mama to a Leghorn, a Buff Orpington, and an Easter Egger. Boy will she be surprised when they grow up.

Good news. All 2,000 cows saved in bad barn fire last night. The farmers rushed cows out of barns, neighbors rallied to take cows to other farms for shelter, milking and feeding. 18 volunteer fire companies and Amish assisted.
