So some of our officers aren't wearing uniforms today. That guy at the crosswalk in the hood - he's a constable looking for distracted drivers. He already spotted a prohibited driver texting at the light. Her vehicle is getting towed now.

We want to emphasize that even though roads may be quieter than usual, all the normal rules still apply - and are being enforced. Officers towed this golf cart off city streets after the driver (wearing a bathrobe and slippers) blew a fail.

The first driver we stopped today on Ladner Trunk and 104th obviously wasn't following our Twitter account. Or he wouldn't have been doing 133km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone. He won't be using his vehicle for the next week, and he'll have a hefty fine. #WeEvenWarnedYou

Driver doing 176 km/hr on his motorcycle today on Hwy. 99 claimed to be “unaware of his speed.” Not sure about that, but he was definitely unaware he passed a police car. $483 ticket may-or may not-enlighten him. When his insurance goes up he’ll get another reminder.

I guess some people don't learn their lesson the first time...or second time. Third time is a charm maybe? Cst. Ewing pulled over a driver going 120 in an 80. This was the drivers 3rd speeding infraction in two months.

. @deltapolice out in force today all along Nordel Way, our highest collision zone area. If it’s not obvious yet this is going to be an all day event, with some officers hidden, mobile, stationary, and some very visible! Media partners feel free to tell everyone who will listen!

Just because it's morning doesn't mean you're sober. An early morning enforcement effort on Hwy 17 had an eyebrow raising result, after a commercial vehicle driver was revealed to be still impaired from the night before. News release:

A couple pedestrian struck files out there this morning both in Delta and surrounding areas. Please be extra vigilant in the dark, wet, weather. It’s hard for peds with their hoods up to see turning veh’s and it’s hard for turning veh’s to see peds in the glare and blind spot

North Delta it's your turn this week for an announced enforcement. Officers are on Scott Rd. now, checking for speeders and distracted and impaired drivers. And yes, unfortunately we see impaired drivers days and night. Please try and make it a boring day for our officers!
