The official ref sheet for Toon Lankmann used in volume 1! This design was made with the intention of giving long time fans of the character a version of him that shared his normally cartoony personality without detracting from the horror in volume 1!

Adding onto the concept art I've shown so far for Volume 1, here is Winfrey! For Winfrey, we wanted to make a design that was striking but still carried all of the same traits the character was known for. Mainly the fleshy, sealed mouth that ripped apart when opened.

Figured since this account is new and there's no teasers for DOAI yet I'd give yall a fun fact from the BTS of Volume 0! The image used on the PFP for this account was ORIGINALLY going to be the image used in the "first contact" scene of Haunted Halloween PSA!

This ended up being changed because late into Volume 0's development, @LyraHorrorz had created a model of Clyde's face purely for the fun of it to see how the character would translate into a 3D space.

Another PSA for DOAI fans to stop taking old, non canon lore into account when discussing the series! Been seeing quite a bit of that in the comments of videos and I worry it'll cause confusion in the community. If it's not in the videos, it isn't canon!

I ended up loving the way the model looked so much that I decided to scrap the original face, instead opting to use it as the PFP of my account for Halloween. The model would serve as a much better replacement, making Clyde feel MUCH more real than he ever did before.

The design we ended up settling on was a mix of all our favorite elements from other concepts. A design which I describe as being a "mechanical scarecrow" of sorts, with large red screen like eyes and massive metal clawed hands.

However it took a LOT of trial and error to get him to this point. There were tons of scrapped concepts drawn both by myself and Lyra, each of which experimenting with the character's design in different ways

The final design seen in the video was actually a 2D plane created by @/weirdwock which was put into a blender scene. The animated plane would be made to look 3D with some lighting tricks as well as the VHS filter which hid the little flaws of the effects

Initial concepts ended up being very close to how the final design would look, with Lyra having a VERY strong idea right from the get go of how she wanted the character. Multiple sketches and even a rough 3D model were made to give an idea of how the creature would look.

@TigeraRainbowra The original idea was that the clothing was used to cover up all the screaming faces on Winfrey's body by Lankmann. I found this idea to be a bit too campy for DOAI however, and Lyra had the idea of the "clothing" actually being discolored skin.
