Awesome moment at the Otto-Eldred GBB game Saturday night as OE athletic trainer Brianne Gleason and her finance Ryan Nielsen got engaged on the court. Special thanks to former Lady Terrors girls' coach Barb Close for the photo!
A great show of sportsmanship from Venango Catholic (in white) in today's Union Holiday Tournament game with Reynolds. Down late in the game, the VC coaches and players made sure to give this Raiders player a memorable layup!
Condolences from the entire D9sports team to Otto-Eldred Volleyball coach Jame Thomas & his daughters Camyrn & Taylor & their family on the passing of his wife & their mom and friend last night.
you are a private school located in a big community with advantages all over the place and you are complaining about a foul call in a game you won by 14. that takes serious nerve.
And that's it. The Rams of Johnsonburg are your District 9 Class 1A boys champions with a 36-30 win over rival ECC, who beat them twice in the regular season
30 years ago Craig Newton of ECC (No. 21) and Dave Constantino of Punxsutawney (diving on the floor) met in basketball. Today their daughters Kait Constantino & Taylor Newton meet on the volleyball court for the D9 title (Dave/Craig photo courtesy of Constantino family)

it is of her teammate, Lauren Loveland, who has Down Syndrome, scoring against C-L today. Lauren has 10 points on the season for the Lady Falcons!
@SportsCenter
Our deepest condolences to Moniteau girls coach Dee Arblaster on the loss of her father to COVID-19. This is real folks. Take it seriously. Stay inside. Social Distance.
“He was one of the kindest men I've ever known. He'd do anything for you" was just one of the ways people described beloved northern Butler County pillar Bill Slater, who died Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital - the county's first victim of COVID-19.
CLUTCH .. North Clarions Tori Obenrader wins 2A shot put on last throw, from 3rd to 1st with 45 feet and change. kanes trinity clark 6th punxsys sam dyson 7th
Hey loyal D9 fans it's Chris. I know we have been kind of quiet but I have had a lot of news work I'm doing. Just wanted to say today was tough. Would have been All-Star game today. One of my favorite events each year. I feel for all of the kids missing out. Stay strong & healthy
Couldn't have written it better.
@PIAASports
the ball is in your court. Do you represent the majority of public schools or do you represent the few elite schools. You know change is needed. Now is the time to act. Don't sit around & be the problem. Be the solution- Chris Rossetti
BREAKING: The Clarion Area Lady Cats volleyball team is headed to the PIAA Class 1A State Championship after defeating Bishop Canevin 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-14)!
You can take the athletes out of D9 but you can't take the D9 out of the athlete.
St. Vincent's Jake Mercer (right, Ridgway) was completely exhausted but Harrison Keenan (Cranberry) of Westminster was right there for him when he was at his weakest after Fridays' raceat W-min
There were no teams. No delineations. No Warriors or Falcon Knights or Wildcats. No Bulldogs or Panthers or Bison.
Everyone was a Gremlin on Sunday evening at Karns City High School.
They were all

Congrats to
@Coudersport
Owen Chambers on becoming the new all time leading scorer in D9 history with 2269 career points! Big accomplishment and well deserved!
The Martin family spends their days and nights at Mason’s bedside.
They read to him. They share with him the many articles, social media posts, letters and cards.
They believe he can hear every encouraging and hopeful word.
Not backing down. If you are winning 35-0 & have scored on every possession no reason to take a timeout. Don't mind scoring in natural flow of game. Other team's job is to stop you. But when you purposefully call timeout to score again that is a line that shouldn't be crossed.
Wow St. Marys just won 9 title on throwing error by 3b trying to double Tim Beimel off 2nd. Throw went into shallow center. Beimel never stopped. Beat throw to plate. St. Marys 3 Clearfield 2
On Sept. 14, 2001, Keystone hosted Moniteau in a football game just three days after 9/11 ... In a scene that I will never forget the bands, players, students, fans (really everyone) came together to honor those victims.
In a really neat act of sportsmanship Redbank Valley invited Brookville to be part of a championship team photo Saturday Many of the players play club volleyball together and coaches have a ton of respect for each other
If you thought basketball was private school heavy in low classifications, check this out. If Brockway beats N. Catholic Tuesday Rovers would be just the 4th public school out of western side of state to make 1A finals since 1A introduced in 2000. Quaker Valley last in 2005
Tattooed on Mason Martin’s right thigh is his favorite passage from the Bible.
Jeremiah 29:11.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Thanks D9 for another great school sports season. Make sure to stick around over the summer for our annual countdown of fav stories, player profiles, features & baseball & softball awards - Chris & Staff
Really big shout out to Bob Tonkin, D9 Football Chair. He was put in a position that was unwinnable today. He spent 12 hours trying to find a location for games until Karns City Gremlin Football
So if school resumes in 2 weeks why would this be an issue? Many years late snow keeps season from starting until mid-April anyhow. Common sense needs to prevail. Let things play out over next couple of weeks. No need to go nuclear like NCAA did. HS Srs. don't get year back
